940 Warehouse Shipping Order

Functional Group ID= OW


Introduction:

This transaction set is used to notify a public warehouse of an order to be shipped. All information needed to
produce a bill of lading, pick ticket, and other shipping papers should be contained in the 940 transaction.
The warehouse is responsible for creating the bill of lading and should use the appropriate form and format,
as approved by the DOT and warehousing industry. Manufacturers, or other shippers, reserve the right to
review and approve the forms used by the warehouse.
