Welcome To
The Energy Transition
Conference 2023

The demands of a changing climate are starting to affect every part of the world and remain the biggest
challenge of this century. The shift towards a responsible energy transition hinges upon striking a balance
between a sustainable energy system, energy security and affordability.

Globally, there is urgency to take the next step towards building ecosystems for a sustainable future while
exploring new business opportunities. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) estimated
that the ASEAN region alone requires USD 220 billion of energy transition investment annually to reach
net zero by 2050.

Fully aware that collaboration across economic sectors is key, TNB is taking this conversation to a
regional level by bringing together subject matter experts, captains of industry, policymakers, and
practitioners to help accelerate a responsible Energy Transition.

The Energy Transition Conference 2023, scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
on 28-29 August 2023 is a tailored platform for delegates to engage and build their network with
other key players in the Energy, TransportSustainable Cities DQG'LJLWDOLVDWLRQsectors. A series
of plenary sessions, panel discussions and breakout tracks will offer insights into the energy
transition future across two days of exciting discourse.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Energy Transition Conference 2023. Let’s
meet in person to work on a Better, Brighter future together!

About The Energy
Transition Conference
2023

The Energy Transition Conference 2023 is the region’s largest meeting

place for energy transition. It will take place at Kuala Lumpur Convention
Centre from 28-29 August 2023.

The Energy Transition Conference 2023 will look ahead to the future
amidst an industry-wide transformation to drive progress to net zero.
Power, transport, and cities are the conference’s three main focus areas,
with digitalisation as an enabler in accelerating the energy transition.

It unites local and international thought leaders, experts, industry players,

policymakers, and communities from across the value chain to formulate
solutions and strategies, stimulate meaningful changes to accelerate
energy transition effective and form collaborations.

The conference provides actionable insights into the technologies,

capabilities and policies that are necessary for the energy transition in this
region over a two-day period. Participants have access to seamless digital
platform and physical networking opportunities to ease building
connections and explore potential collaborations across sectors.
Leading The
Energy Transition
Conversation

The Asia-Pacific (APAC) region provides an opportune landscape for the

energy transition. Based on International Renewable Energy Agency
(IRENA), the APAC region accounts for more than half of global energy
consumption, with 85% of the regional consumption sourced from fossil
fuels. Electricity and heat production are responsible for approximately
30% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions globally.

Many countries in the region have made progress despite the ongoing
energy crisis, and so does the urgency to act with effective transition
models. Developing countries are faced with the challenges of shaping
climate change-friendly policies, securing financial support and
technology transfer, and balancing economic concerns of their nation
while ensuring a responsible energy transition.

The energy transition can be achieved through collaboration and

collective efforts across nations, between government, private sector,
and civil society. Learning from the best-in-class practitioners and
countries' experiences would accelerate a responsible energy transition
within the region.

At The Energy Transition Conference 2023, we bring these issues to

light and possible solutions from key experts in the Power, Transport,
City and Digitalisation sectors. Industry players and policymakers are
converging at this conference to debate and discuss how we can deliver
a significant shift into a responsible energy transition that aims to strike
a balance between a sustainable energy system, energy security
and affordability.

The Energy Transition Conference
– Sustainable Overview
The Energy Transition Conference is committed to promoting sustainable
practices to advance the shift to a sustainable future. Our efforts to promote
sustainability extends beyond the event, as we strive to serve as a catalyst driving
change and progress in the energy industry.

Carbon Footprint Calculator

This initiative empowers our delegates to understand the carbon emissions
generated through their participation in this conference allowing The Energy
Transition Conference to quantify and generate climate action awareness.

Event Powered by Green Energy

The 2-day international event will be powered by green electrons from
renewable energy resources available in Malaysia through the purchase of
Renewable Energy Certification (REC), advocating the transition from
conventional energy to green energy.

Smart Events
The Energy Transition Conference will continue to advocate for an integrated
eco-system that allows attendees to access event resources through mobile
and digital solutions, minimising the need for printed materials. By going
paperless, we are significantly reducing our carbon footprint and ultimately,
bringing us closer toward our goal of a more sustainable future.

Sustainable Venue & Meals

Driven by environmental responsibility, The Energy Transition Conference
partners with a venue that undertakes organization-wide strategies in
adherence with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG),
including its energy and waste management.
