Welcome To
The Energy Transition
Conference 2023
The demands of a changing climate are starting to affect every part of the world and remain the biggest
challenge of this century. The shift towards a responsible energy transition hinges upon striking a balance
between a sustainable energy system, energy security and affordability.
Globally, there is urgency to take the next step towards building ecosystems for a sustainable future while
exploring new business opportunities. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) estimated
that the ASEAN region alone requires USD 220 billion of energy transition investment annually to reach
net zero by 2050.
Fully aware that collaboration across economic sectors is key, TNB is taking this conversation to a
regional level by bringing together subject matter experts, captains of industry, policymakers, and
practitioners to help accelerate a responsible Energy Transition.
The Energy Transition Conference 2023, scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
on 28-29 August 2023 is a tailored platform for delegates to engage and build their network with
other key players in the Energy, TransportSustainable Cities DQG'LJLWDOLVDWLRQsectors. A series
of plenary sessions, panel discussions and breakout tracks will offer insights into the energy
transition future across two days of exciting discourse.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Energy Transition Conference 2023. Let’s
meet in person to work on a Better, Brighter future together!
The Energy Transition Conference 2023 will look ahead to the future
amidst an industry-wide transformation to drive progress to net zero.
Power, transport, and cities are the conference’s three main focus areas,
with digitalisation as an enabler in accelerating the energy transition.
Many countries in the region have made progress despite the ongoing
energy crisis, and so does the urgency to act with effective transition
models. Developing countries are faced with the challenges of shaping
climate change-friendly policies, securing financial support and
technology transfer, and balancing economic concerns of their nation
while ensuring a responsible energy transition.
