Topic/s: * School Roll-Out on the Establishment of Child Protection Council


Cum Launching of “Tara, Sabay Tayo” Program

Objective/s: * Teachers are expected to realize that with all the active
participation and coordination of the Child Protection
Committees (CPCs), the protection of the children against
abuse, exploitation, violence, discrimination, bullying, and
other acts of abuse will be fully guaranteed which also in line
with the motto: “Karapatan sa Ligtas na Paaralan, Sama-
samang Makakamtan.”

 Overview
 The establishment of Child Protection Council and the implementation
of the “Tara, Sabay Tayo” Program are integral components of ensuring
child safety and well-being within schools. The Chil Protection Council
(CPC) typically consists of representatives from the school
administration, teachers, parents, students, and community
stakeholders. Its primary purpose is to develop policies, protocols, and
initiatives aimed aat safeguarding children from various forms of abuse,
neglect, and exploitation. The “Tara, Sabay Tayo” Program, on the other
hand, is an initiative focused on promoting inclusivity, respect, and
empathy among students. Together, tehse efforts aim to create a safe
and supportive environment where children can thrive academically,
emotionally, and socially. By empowering stakeholders and promoting
positive values and behaviors, schools can play a crucial role in
protecting and nurturing the well-being of their students.
 Objectives
The School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) implemented in schools under
the policy of the department of Education which aims to develop and
support teachers by nurturing their knowledge, attitudes, and
competencies in terms of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in
their work stations. Hence this month’s SLAC aims to:
1. For learner to be able to exercise their rights
2. To have no violence in school
3. For schools to uphold, promote, and respect children’s
special right to protection
4. To have functional and effective child protection
structures and policies at all levels of DepEd.

 Pre -requisite knowledge and skills


1. Familiarity with existing chil protection policies,
protocols, and procedures to guide the establishment
and operation of the council effectively.

 Analysis
The establishment of Child Protection Council (CPC) and the
launching of “Tara, Sabay Tayo” program signifies a proactive
approach to addressing child protection issues within a school
environment.
 Abstraction

 Application
The CPC can work develop and implement policies aimed at
protecting children from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence.
 Adaptation.
The goal of Tubak ES was to create a contextualized child
protection policy, therefore the ideas, suggestions and criticisms
made throughtout the conversation were taken into consideration.
The plans that were decided upon during this session, together
with some hopeful suggestions, will be used to draft a school child
protection policy.
 Reflection
Establishing a child protection council and implementing the
“Tara, Sabay Tayo” program reflects a proactive approach to
safeguarding children’s rights and well-being. It demonstrates a
commitment to addressing issues such as child abuse,
exploitation, and neglect within a school community. By bringing
together stakeholders and resources, the council can develop
strategies and initiatives to prevent harm and provide support to
vumlerable children. The “Tara, Sabay Tayo” program, with its
focus on education, awareness and community involvement has
the potential to empower both childrn and adults to create a safer
environments and promote a positive child development. Overall,
these initiatives signify a significant step towards creating a more
protective and nurturing society for children.
 Closure
This session is a recollection of child abuse cases within the
community. This session ended well. Concerns and issues were
tackled and well-noted. Through continuous dedication and action,
we can strive towards achieving lasting impact and meaningful
change in safeguarding children’s right and well-being.
 Evaluation
Teachers gave their full attention to the topic. Remarks and
suggestions were made for creating plans and programs to shield
vulnerable children from harm and offer assistance when needed.
Their passion and excitement throughtout the session
demonstrated how much they wanted to protect kids from abuses.
