The issues of substance abuse among teens is becoming a great nuances and need a
significant understanding on the possible risk and protective factors for teen substance use. One
of the critical risk factors for teen substance use that should be research for an appropriate
intervention towards this subject is the genetic predisposition. According to ( ) individuals who
are born of the family with a history substance use such as alcohol are likely to be addict. For
example, a child whoes father is an alcohol addict is likely to inherit some genes that can make
them addict. The genetic factort from the child parents has the capacity to make them susceptible
to addiction. In this scenario, the teen has limited control over their addiction because it is within
their genetic make up and can not be easily altered. While changing their genetic makeup is an
impossible task, the victims of this case can manage their risk through awareness to understand
their family history and seek support and counselling from professionals.
On the other hand, there are a wde range of protective factors that can be utilized for teen
