Learning objectives and assessment criteria

State the learning objectives based on the curriculum (concepts, skills, attitudes).
By the end of this lesson, the children will be able to …

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

 Use the coordinate grid to represent the coordinate points.
 Reflect the shape around the x-axis and y-axis

Materials/ resources needed

 Describe the classroom resources needed as well as additional resources in detail

GeoGebra App , white board, worksheet 1, .

Teaching and Learning Sequence

Introduction
 Do you plan any warm-up activity?
 How will I access prior knowledge in this lesson?
 How will I introduce the learning objectives in this lesson?

Activity (Discussion):
Represent group of figures, then ask them what you observed from this figure
Did you notice that it represents one type of Geometric Transformations?
Did you notice that the reflection maintains the original image? or didn’t change the
original image?

Then show students the topic which is the reflection

Introducing the learning objective. it will be in the board and visible for all students
Body
 What will I do to help the children achieve their learning objectives?
 What tasks, activities, and patterns of interaction do you plan?
 Include Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 and learning centers (depending on which are applicable)
 Allocate timing for each step of the lesson
Step 1
 Put students in group where the group are containing 3 students each had
specific task to do
 Remanding students about the quadrant numbers and sign where are the
 x-axis and y-axis
 Show the students the rules of the reflection through the x-axis and y-axis,
discuss the together.
 Strat with the fist example1, let the students apply the rules and then explain it
for the whole class.

Step2

 Encourage students to solve the Exercise 1 in group using the with board
 Pick up 3 different solution to the board discus the solution with the students
why do you think it wrong or right, what might they do to make it right.

 Distribute worksheet 1. Ask students to work in group solving the sheets and
draw the given shape in GeoGebra to prove their work. The activity had a
boundary time around 10 mints and there is a gift for the group who win

Closure
 How will I close the lesson?
 How will the learning in the lesson be drawn together?

Quiz in the Alef education

Assessment
Describe the strategies you will use to assess children’s learning in relation to the lesson’s learning
objectives
 Include pre, during and after forms of assessment (including summative and formative)
 Carefully observe students’ progress during the activities and provide feedback.

Differentiation
Describe the strategies you will use to cater for diverse learners’ needs in this lesson
This lesson uses different representations to target students with different learning styles.

Educational Technology
 Describe any educational technology used to support the lesson (if applicable)

Reflection
 Guiding questions: What went well in this lesson? Was the time frame adequate? What did you
observe as being most supportive of the learning? What might you do differently if you had to
teach this lesson again? How did you know that learners achieved the learning outcomes of the
lesson? Explain how you made use of the feedback given to you in a previous teaching
experience?
