Public Service: Problems

and Challenges
Public Service

[1] the business of supplying a commodity (such as electricity

or gas) or service (such as transportation) to any or all
members of a community; [2] a service rendered in the public
interest [3] governmental employment (Meriam Webster)
By technical definition, is a service provided by the government to
the people in a specific jurisdiction. Services may be provided by
the government itself, or they pay a private organization to provide
them. For instance, a fire or police department is a government-run
agency, but trash pickup provided by an independent contractor is a
public service financed by the jurisdiction (Columbia Southern University)
