and running of the business such as water, cleaning equipment, electricity.

therefore takes the form, sole proprietorship form of business.
A sole proprietorship type of business is considerately the best form due to the following major
reasons as far as pmd is concerned.
It requires a limited /small capital to start operating.
It will be under full control of one person and therefore easy to identify and solve the problems
that may affect the operation of the business.
It takes simple accounting records than a limited liability companies and partnership typed
business.

PROWESS MAKES A DIFFERENCE started in February 2023 .our company provides
residential and commercial carpet, upholstery, sofas, car interiors and curtains cleaning.
Our company will strive to provide clients with professional, first class quality service and
convenient scheduling.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
PROWESS MAKES A DIFFERENCE is a start-up janitorial services provider servicing the
needs of people as regards the look of the environment around them. Prowess makes a difference
will strive to provide clients with professional, first class quality service and convenient
scheduling.

The purpose of the business plan is to strategically anticipate key management


considerations for establishing and growing PROWESS MAKES A DIFFERENCE into a viable,
sustainable business, and attract financial investments.
This business will be a sole proprietorship business owned by Nazziwa Sarah. I will use start-
up capital of 20 million. Of which 10 million will be owners, equity and the remaining 10
million will be a bank loan which will be secured from centenary at 10% interest rate.
The key personnel at prowess makes a difference will include manger, cleaning team,
marketing team and accounting.

cleaning and upholstery cleaning.

Primary services; services will include waste disposal ,window cleaning,
upholstery cleaning ,carpet cleaning and hard surface floor care, restroom
sanitation and stocking ,dusting ,furniture upkeep ,and occasional specialized
interior cleaning services. For convenience to clients, these services will be
available seven days a week and will be determined according to client needs.
Distribution channels; prowess makes a difference will provide services using
contracts .contracts will be formed on a six month basis initially , at the end of
which ,either party can withdraw from renewing the contract .
Pricing structure and strategy: Prowess makes a difference deems it necessary to
charge rates to clients based on square footage rather than a flat fee due to their
varying sizes .this will allow a cost structure affordable to all well as an
operational system used to distinguish cleaning time needs and or limits for each
area .the proposed pricing strategy is 200 shs per sq. ot per cleaning. There a

house or area occupying 2500 sq. will pay 500000 shs per week and 2000000 shs
per month during regular months. The client may option for additional cleaning
during busier months or holidays. The fee will remain 200 shs per sq. per cleaning.

clients based on sq. footage rather than a flat fee due to their varying sizes .this
will allow a cost structure more suitable to all as well as a classification system to
distinguish employee cleaning time needs and or limits for each area .the pricing
system will be a key marketing tool.

best. This reputation and relationships formed with clients will help the business
grow through referrals and maintain existing contracts.
Direct sales referrals will be vital to success. Prowess makes a difference will not
be a, mass distributor of cleaning services: consequently the owner and the
employees simply cannot handle a, mass marketing campaign. Additionally we
want to portray a personal and professional image to potential clients.
First time client promotion – potential clients will receive a onetime
demonstration cleaning of a portion of their area .this demonstration should take
approximately one hour ,after which a regular six month contract will be sought.
Referral rewards .clients will receive a 10% discount on their next cleaning when
they refer a potential client who signs the initial 6 month contract.

Management and responsibilities; Nazziwa Sarah will be responsible for
management duties excluding professional activities performed by her advisory
team consisting of her banker , certified public accountant , insurance agent
.Nazziwa Sarah will not hire an administrative assistants until considerable growth
deems it necessary .therefore organisation structure is quite simplistic. Nazziwa
Sarah will manage two full time employees thought the year .she will hire
additional variable labour employees to assist during the probable busier months.

Employee position description .full time employees will be responsible for


participating in all training programs. Experienced staff members will train all new
hires. Employees primary duties include waste disposal ,window cleaning, blind
and upholstery cleaning, carpet and hard surface floor care ,restroom care
,restroom sanitation, and stocking,dusting,furniture upkeep ,and occasional
specialized interior cleaning services .employees will be trained in all areas of
cleaning ,however may be directed to specific areas at the cleaning site to allow for
maximum efficiency .employees will be informed of late irregular work times
required for this line of work.

Operational plan
Prowess makes a difference will provide service in tems.teams will speed up the
cleaning process and increase efficiency because each team member will perform
specific tasks at each location. Teams will be monitored on quality of service by
the supervisor .during the beginning stages the owner will be at every site to assist
employees to perform a quality inspection of their work .the teams will consist of
three people during the first year of the business; miss Nazziwa Sarah and two full
time employees .one additional team member will be added each year for years
two and three.
A detailed work schedule will be given to the client to indicate specific jobs to be
performed on site. All team members will receive a copy of the list including the
specific job requirements.According to industry estimates, each employee has the
capacity to clean approximately 800sq .ft per hour when the team system is
utilized.
Credit policies .Prowess makes a difference cleaning company will provide clients
with an initial six month cleaning contract .cleaning services will be performed
weekly and billed on the last day of each month .clients will have until 15 th of the
following month to pay their bill .late payments will receive a small penalty based
upon total amount due. Clients will have a prepayment option for the entire period
or weekly instalments.

Since it is a start-up company ,the owner will oversee all the operational with the
help of few expert in finance and it .we will be paying employees a competitive
wages ,quite a bit more than minimum wage .this is calculated to attract a much
higher calibre employee that is not looking for temporary employment ,but a stable
environment .
Our business will possess 3 stuff members and two temporary employees’ .the
members include Nazziwa Sarah as manging director, Zziwa Reagan as manager,
and Ssenyonga Kevin as co-worker.
