Some people believe that nowadays computers can translate all languages very quickly and accurately,

so learning a foreign language is a waste of time. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, some people believe that nowadays computers can translate all languages very quickly and
accurately, so learning a foreign language is a waste of time. I disagree with this opinion, and this easy
will ague my opinion.

On the one hand, computers acctually can translate all languages really fast and close meaning with
word by word. For example, the means that people all around the word use is Google Translate. That is
really useful things that make our life easier. It can translate almost language in the world in seconds and
most people can understand the things that need to translate. To be honest, I use it nearly everyday to
translate new vocabulary and some sentences in the outside of the product that I don’t understand like
Japan’s product or Chinese product.

But on the other hand, computers cannot understand all the meaning of the sentences or sometime the
translated was wrong. It is because the meaning of the sentences is not only caused by word but also
caused by culture use that language. For example, I had try to translate the meaning of sentence “Ba con
Ba Ba đứng trên hồ Ba Bể ngắm nhìn ba ba của ba con Ba Ba” to English and actually it does not work.
The meanings was change to another that make the reader or the audience understand wrong meanings
that the writer or speaker want to explain.So that it is necessary to have culture knowledge and more to
translate right meaning of the sentences, essay etc…

In conclusion,I disagree with this opinion, I believe that people all around the world should not too much
tend to computers, it just the means to translate by a part not all. And I think that have more foreign
language is necessary to have higher salary.
