SEMI- DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 7

MARCH 4, 2024

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
A. Explain text evidence and general statement;
B. Value the importance of incorporating evidence to support a claim by peer
sharing; and
C. Read the story of Filipino Cultures and Values and make an inference based on
textual evidence.

IV. Procedure
A. Preparation
The teacher will greet the students and then ask them to seat properly.
B. Motivation
The teacher will present various jumbled letters and let the students arrange
and guess the hidden words.

C. Lesson Proper
The teacher will explain textual evidence and explain the definitions of the
latter as well as the general statement. Afterward, the points to remember in
citing text evidence will follow, including:
1. Read and understand the text thoroughly
2. Identify the general statement or the main idea from the text you read.
3. Go back to the text to find supporting statements to make your claims valid.
4. Add the quotes to your response.
D. Activity
The teacher will let the students read a text about religious gatherings that
represent Filipinos’ faithfulness to God and identify the general statement and
text evidence on the story.

E. Generalization
The teacher will ask the students a question about, “What is the importance of
incorporating evidence into someone’s claim to support a claim of a person?”

F. Evaluation
The teacher will ask the students to make an inference base on the story of
“Filipino Cultures and Values.”

The teacher will grade the students based on this rubric.
