Cosmetics History
Cosmetic is derived from the Greek word (kosmetike-tekhne) meaning technique of dress and ornament, Also (kosmetikos), skilled in ordering or arranging. Cosmetic usage dates back to 40000 BC in Ancient Egypt. Used by royalty, Nefetiti, (the wife of the heretic king Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV)). She is to be purported in ancient Rome for her beauty (Nefertari,(famous Queen of the time of Ramesses II), mask of Tutankhamen and more. One product was Kohl, used to outline the eyes. It was comprised of copper, lead, almonds, soot, in addition, to other ingredients. The ancients believed that if you outlined the eyes, it would improve eyesight and ward off evil spirits. Ancients created cosmetics using mercury and white lead, both having dangerous and poisonous affects to the human body. It is believed that these cosmetics actually were responsible for blindness and deformities. The Alchemist of makeup during Ancient times was a slave called a Cosmetae.

Highlight: Is recommended for highlighting under the brow. This golden light color draws the attention to your beautiful eyes. Rule of thumb when applying makeup: Light attracts and dark distracts.

Dry Brushing
A means of exfoliating your skin. It also referred to as skin brushing or body brushing. Promotes healthy skin by removing dead skin cells, stimulating and increasing skin cell production, boosting the immune system and helps the body to release toxins. Before Showering: Use a natural bristle brush or loofah. Start with your feet, using a cicular motion, moving towards the heart. Work up each leg either in a cirular motion or brushing upward towards the heart. Then advance to the arms. Starting at the fingers, forearm, biceps, triceps, continue towards the heart. Move towards the back, working towards the stomach. At the stomach start with counter clockwise circular motions working up towards the chest converting to upward strokes to the chest.

Simple eye shadow suggestion: Apply highlight under brow. Apply sand across the entire lid. Use optional colors in the crease:
Raisin or R Highlight: is recommended for highlighting under the brow. This golden light color draws the attention to your beautiful eyes.
