Sir,
I am a university student in KPK, through your daily newsletter I would like to highlight a particular
matter of importance.
On Jan 22, 2024; with the opening of ‘Ram Janambhoomi Mandir’ in the city of Ayodhya- UP state, India-
there followed many commemorations and celebrations throughout the country in the majority Hindu
population. The mainstream media coverage for this inauguration ceremony was largely projected as
positive with famous actors, business/startup owners and other famous personalities all showing up for
this event. However some ugly events that transpired on the 22nd of Jan and after were largely swept
under the carpet, receiving small coverage on free media outlets and mostly on social media platforms
like twitter.

From 22nd Jan-till now violence against the Muslim minority in India has surged up, demonstrations and
rallies in celebration of the temple inauguration took violent turns when blood thirsty crowds of Hindus
led by RSS goons vandalized mosques, Muslim houses, businesses and other property. Muslims were
assaulted, harassed and abused all over India. When the Muslim community tries to retaliate in self-
defense, law authorities hold them responsible for inciting hatred and religious tensions, punishing them
unjustly with severe penalties, sometimes demolishing their homes too.
This goes to show that Ram Mandir built by unjust means (unlawful demolition of Babri Masjid) can
never produce just, lawful and peaceful results, injustice will always breed injustice and that is a
universal principle.
