Dear Eduardo
Thank you for your revised typescript. I am pleased to tell you that the Editors have accepted it for publication. If
you could give your article one last check against our style sheet and send me your final version it will then be
forwarded to Christine Linehan, the Assistant Editor, for preparation for the Press.
Please note that this is the formal point of acceptance. If you are required by UK government or other regulations
to place a pre-publication version of your article in an institutional or non-commercial subject repository, please
use the version you have just submitted. Please note that the terms of your publishing agreement will not permit
posting of your article in any form on commercial repositories such as academia.edu. A more expansive
description of open access, posting and reuse can be found on the Author Publishing Agreement form (link
below.)
Contributors should note that in the process of preparing an article for press, some further editorial intervention
will take place. Primarily this will be to ensure that the text conforms to journal conventions, especially in
bibliographical references, and in routine matters of presentation. Work may also be done on the style and
phraseology of the text to eliminate minor infelicities of expression or to improve clarity. A typescript will be
returned to the author for vetting where there has been considerable work of this nature; otherwise it will be
assumed that the author accepts such work as part of the editorial process.
Once editing and proofreading is complete, and before your article is assigned to a print issue of the Journal, it
will be published online as a standalone article. This process, known as First View, will constitute formal
publication; the article will be accessible to subscribers, citable, and eligible for REF or similar evaluations. As a
result, it will not be possible to make further modifications to the article at or after this point. This makes it
particularly important that you check proofs with particular care. As soon as possible after online publication the
article will be paginated and printed as part of a traditional issue.
As mentioned above, you now need to complete the authors Publishing Agreement which can be found at
https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-ecclesiastical-history/information/author-
publishing-agreement. Please sign and return a copy of this form to me as instructed. Whilst returning your
signed form, would you also please confirm in your covering note your preferred affiliation/place of residence as
this information will appear on the title page of your article. We would also ask you to remember that run-up to
publication may take some time; do please keep us informed of any change of address and/or affiliation pre-
publication. If your private address has been used throughout the review process you should be aware that this
will appear in print and online; should you have any objection to this, please let us know.
Yours sincerely

Mandy Barker
Secretary to the Editors
