Echoing Tongue

I-I I used to speak like this,

I can’t help it,
My mind thinks of a word,
But my tongue can’t utter it,

People laugh at my attempts to correct myself,

I used to insert it deep into my heart,
But now, I refuse to anymore,
Although, I didn’t just stand by and do nothing,

I worked hard to improve myself,

I focused on how the words would slip out,
I sat, and learned to let the words run free,
I sat, and learned to wait for my mouth to process my mind,

Insults still came my way but, I stopped listening,

It’s done me well, and I feel more comfortable than ever,
It was tough, but I made it,
I didn’t like my speaking very much but, now I do,
