Luna, a dog who discovers a hidden danger that threatens a family of eight

Hi, I'm Graciela Reque and welcome to pet heroes. You know that pets can be very protective of
their human companions, but how do they warn us about dangers that we can't see well? Today I
will tell you the story of Luna who does everything possible to alert her family of the danger they
face.

CASO 1

Jenny and Ryan Conroe are a young couple in charge of a boisterous family they have six children,
including five children under the age of 14, since moving to Edmonton eleven years ago they have
fallen in love with the city and are proud to call it home, the ninth member of their family is Luna,
a husky malamute, part lonely and part protective crossbreed puppy.

Luna is a strong and peaceful presence, she is like a wolf, in some ways she spends most of her
time indoors, but in the winter she likes to be outside,

It's been two and a half years, half a year since Luna joined the Conroe family, Luna's owners had
recently picked up a second younger dog and the two were fighting for dominance, the couple
were reluctant to let go of either dog, but fate helped unite Luna with Jenny right away.

After screening people for weeks, Luna's owners finally saw the signs they had been looking for in
Jenny's eyes and her chemistry with Luna earned her the right to take a new dog home that very
day.

I have a very strong bond. We were like best friends. I don't know what I would do without her.

According to Jenny's senses, Luna when things aren't right, she especially keeps an eye on Aaron,
who is only three years old.
She has even alerted me before when there have been incidents that I should go out and check on
like one day he decided he was going to take I take the eggs out of the fridge and crack them and

on that shouldn't be going on,

outside.

I got home from work and it was quite late and when I first saw Luna she wanted to go out,
normally, she would just run out and go to the bathroom for just a couple of minutes and then
come back in, but this time I had to call her inside because it was raining so hard and I was, I was
wondering why she wasn't coming in and when she came in she was covered in mud, she had
been digging something out there and she looked at me and she had this look in her eyes and I
knew something weird was going on. I couldn't understand why she was so dirty and we were
very tired, so even though it looked like she was anxious about something or trying to convey
some kind of message, we were too tired and we went to bed.

Luna has discovered a serious threat to her family's safety right in her own backyard, she tried to
expose the problem by digging, but her humans can't see the danger, all they see is a big muddy
hole

shortly after receiving a phone call from my husband, he told me that Luna had dug a big hole in
the backyard and that would explain why she was as strong as when she came in. I won't do this
again, okay, what Ryan doesn't know is that Luna has detected an unusual odor rising from the
ground and her instinct to sense danger is perfect in the smell she has discovered.

I thought he was just having fun when he told me he had dug this huge hole. we noticed that the
hole had partially filled with rainwater, so there were little air bubbles rising to the surface
continuously and as the bubble comes to the surface, so does a thought: could it be a gas leak? I'm
like, really, you think I just thought there was a gas leak.

Ryan and Jenny call the gas company within 15 minutes, a technician arrives, checks out the leak
and gives the anxious couple the news that it's no good.
And emergency gas leak repair crews immediately investigated the Connor Rose's backyard. It is
clear that this leak is a very serious threat discovered at the last minute.

Thank God and Luna for what she had done, because she completely alerted us to this. If it hadn't
been for her digging this hole, then we wouldn't even have known to call the gas company.
