activities on the farm.

Starter Activity: 10 min

 Ask the children to recall what they know about farms, animals and the
crops.
 Sing old mcdonald nursery rhyme along with flashcards.

Methodology: 15 min

 Teacher will make student open learner’s book page 66 and discuss the
picture.
 More answers will be posted on board through the discussion with the
children.
 Teacher will teach them the vocabulary relating to the farm.

Objective:

By the end of the unit, learners will be able to identify present continuous. 3 min

Starter Activity: 20 min

 Tell your students “Stand up.” Say & write on the board “You are standing.”
Repeat with several other known commands to class or various individuals,
asking learners in each case what he, she, or they are doing and writing it on
the board: “You’re sitting,” he’s reading,” “she is writing,” “I’m talking,”
etc.
 Teacher will do an action activity of “ing” with the learners so they can have
the better picture of present continuous.

containing the short 'i' sound.

Starter Activity: 10 min

 Write the letter 'i' on the chalkboard.


 Explain to learners that this vowel has two sounds, a short sound and a long
sound. Encourage learners to make the short 'i' sound.
 Orally give examples of words with the short 'i' sound

 Put up the six pictures on the whiteboard (brick, sit, fish, kit, ink, and milk)
 Ask learners to name the pictures, and assist them if needed.
 Explain to learners that the name of each picture has the short 'i' sound.

 Analyze the life cycle of a specific animal through the picture composition.

 Begin the lesson by comparing and contrasting two different types of


animals: a kangaroo and an ostrich.
 After displaying the two pictures along with the text, ask learners to describe
differences between the animals.
 Tell the learners that they will be learning more about representing,
describing, and writing about the life cycles of various animals.

 Teacher will put up the pictures of life cycle of butterfly and will discuss
how the life cycle of butterfly happens.
 Learners will write few sentences on the life cycle of the butterfly as their
picture composition work

 Ask voluntarily who will come and explain the life cycle of butterfly.
Look at the picture. Write about the life cycle of Butterfly in steps.

1. The life cycle of butterfly has four steps.


2. First they lay eggs on branches and leaves.
3. Next it turns into caterpillar or larva.
4. Then it gets in it’s pupa to change.
5. Finally, it turns to an adult butterfly.
6. Then it fly to everywhere.

 Teacher will write the words "do not" on the board. Skip a space and explain
to the students that you are going to change these two words into
contractions.
 Tell them to always keep the first word. Write it.
 Now be sure they are watching as you show them how to change the second
word to finish the contraction.
 Bring attention to the apostrophe to show that you omitted, or left out, a
letter.
 Read the new word: don't.
