Height and Range of the Projectile at Different Angles of Release

Range is defined as the distance between the launch point and the
point where the projectile hits the ground.
Maximum height of the object is the highest vertical position along
its trajectory. The object is moving upward before reaching the
highest point - and it is falling after that point.
Angle of projection or the angle before the release of an object
The angle, relative to the ground, at which a body is projected into
the air. The angle of release is an important factor affecting the flight
path of a projectile.
One of the most important components of the projectile motion, and
the
trajectory it follows, is the initial launch angle or the angle of release.
The angle at which the object is launched determines the range and
height of projectile motion. arrow in the figure. Remember that it has
always a direction.

of release?
• In the absence of air resistance, the maximum range is attained if
the
angle of release is 45°.
• Range decreases as the angle of release decreases from 45°or θ
< 45°.
• Range decreases as the angle of release increases from 45° or
45° < θ.
B. What happens to the height of projectile motion with respect to
the angle
of release?
• As the angle of release increases, the height increases.
• As the angle of release decreases, the height decreases.
4. Application My Vlog on Projectile Motion! Learners’ output
may vary.
Learning Competency:
Investigate the relationship between the angle of release and the
height and
range of the projectile (S9FE-IVa-35)

Learning Objective:
Apply the concept of projectile motion in real life situations
specifically the
relationship of angle release to projectile’s height and range.
Materials:
Mobile phone/video camera
Internet connection
Procedure:
a. Make a vlog about the relationship of angle release to the range
and height of a projectile motion.
b. Perform an example of projectile motion at home.
c. Release an object in three different angles.
d. Observe how the angle of release affects the range and the
height of
projectile motion.
e. Discuss your observation on your vlog.
f. Send your video to your teacher.
