Installation & Maintenance Instruction

Ricoh MP C2011SP, MP C2003, MP C2503, MP C2004, MP C2504 drum


unit rebuild instructions – English
(see video as well)

Tools and materials needed to rebuild the drum unit:


• PH#2 screwdriver
• Small flat head screwdriver
• Toner vacuum cleaner
• Adhesive tape or sticker
• Cotton swabs
• Conductive grease
• Lint free cloth
• Deionized or distilled water
• CET products:
o CET6233 drum cleaning blade
o CET6286 Primary Charge (PCR) cleaning roller
o CET6235 PCR
o CET6232 drum

Step Instructions
#
1. Before removing a drum unit from a machine for rebuilding, enter the Service Mode and
set "1" in the corresponding SPs:
SP3-701-2 - for Black drum unit
SP3-701-25 - for Cyan drum unit
SP3-701-48 - for Magenta drum unit
SP3-701-71 - for Yellow drum unit
This is necessary for correct operation of the rebuilt drum unit.
2. Enter the Service mode:
Clear - 8 - 0 - 6 - 1 - 8 - 2 - С (hold)
3. System Sp - SP3XXX Process
4. 3701 Manual New Unit Set
5. Choose the color of the drum unit to be rebuild (Magenta is shown – 48)
6. Press 1, then #
7. Turn the machine off, then remove the PCDU to be rebuilt
8. Cover the developer unit entrance port with a sticker or adhesive tape
9. Remove 2 screws from the front OPC drum support hub with a PH#2 screwdriver, then
remove the front OPC drum support hub
10. Remove 1 screw from the rear PCDU cover with a PH#2 screwdriver then remove the
rear PCDU cover
11. Remove 3 screws from the rear OPC drum support hub with a PH#2 screwdriver then
remove the rear OPC drum support hub using a small flat head screwdriver to help pry it
off.
12. Release the cable at the front of the PCDU from the plastic housing
13. Carefully remove the developer unit section and set it aside

14. Rest the drum unit on the working surface


15. Remove the OPC drum
16. Remove 1 screw from each end of the PCR assembly with a PH#2 screwdriver and then
remove the PCR assembly and set it aside
17. Remove 1 screw from each end of the cleaning blade with a PH#2 screwdriver. Then
remove the cleaning blade using a small flat head screwdriver to help pry it out.
18. Restore the end felts’ pile by scuffing them with a small flat head screwdriver
19. Clean up waste toner from the plastic housing with a toner vacuum.
Do not use a conventional vacuum.
20. Wipe the recovery blade with clean, dry, lint free cloth
21. Reinstall the cleaning blade.
The working edge of the new CET6233 cleaning blade is lubricated with special
lubricant. If you are reusing an old blade, lubricate its working edge with yellow toner.
22. Secure the cleaning blade with two screws using a PH#2 screwdriver
23. Release the locking tabs on the PCR assembly using a small flat head screwdriver, then
remove the PCR and the PCR cleaning roller
24. Remove the PCR saddles and the PCR cleaning roller saddles
25. Clean the PCR cleaning roller with a toner vacuum.
If the PCR Cleaning roller is damaged, replace it with the new CET6286.
26. Clean the PCR with a lint free cloth dampened with deionized water.
If the PCR is damaged or defective or you cannot fully clean it, replace it with the new
CET6235.
27. Reassemble the PCR cleaning roller saddles, their springs and PCR saddles
28. Reinstall the saddles onto the PCR’s and the PCR cleaning roller’s axles
29. Clean the PCR contact, then apply a small amount of conductive grease on it using a
cotton swab
30. Reinstall the PCR and the PCR cleaning roller into the holder
31. The black saddle must go on the contact side

32. Take out the new OPC drum, CET6232


33. Install the OPC drum into the drum unit, orienting the drive hub to the rear side
34. Carefully place the developer unit section onto the drum unit, aligning the posts with
the gaps

35. Reinstall the front OPC drum support hub securing it with 2 screws using a PH#2
screwdriver
36. Reinstall the rear OPC drum support hub securing it with 3 screws using a PH#2
screwdriver
37. Manually rotate the OPC drum in the working direction. Make sure the OPC drum
rotates smoothly.
38. Reinstall the PCR assembly securing it with a screw at each end using a PH#2
screwdriver
39. Snap the cable back into the plastic housing
40. Reinstall the rear PCDU cover securing it with a screw using a PH#2 screwdriver
41. Remove the adhesive tape or sticker from the developer unit entrance port
