Step Instructions
#
1. Before removing a drum unit from a machine for rebuilding, enter the Service Mode and
set "1" in the corresponding SPs:
SP3-701-2 - for Black drum unit
SP3-701-25 - for Cyan drum unit
SP3-701-48 - for Magenta drum unit
SP3-701-71 - for Yellow drum unit
This is necessary for correct operation of the rebuilt drum unit.
2. Enter the Service mode:
Clear - 8 - 0 - 6 - 1 - 8 - 2 - С (hold)
3. System Sp - SP3XXX Process
4. 3701 Manual New Unit Set
5. Choose the color of the drum unit to be rebuild (Magenta is shown – 48)
6. Press 1, then #
7. Turn the machine off, then remove the PCDU to be rebuilt
8. Cover the developer unit entrance port with a sticker or adhesive tape
9. Remove 2 screws from the front OPC drum support hub with a PH#2 screwdriver, then
remove the front OPC drum support hub
10. Remove 1 screw from the rear PCDU cover with a PH#2 screwdriver then remove the
rear PCDU cover
11. Remove 3 screws from the rear OPC drum support hub with a PH#2 screwdriver then
remove the rear OPC drum support hub using a small flat head screwdriver to help pry it
off.
12. Release the cable at the front of the PCDU from the plastic housing
13. Carefully remove the developer unit section and set it aside
35. Reinstall the front OPC drum support hub securing it with 2 screws using a PH#2
screwdriver
36. Reinstall the rear OPC drum support hub securing it with 3 screws using a PH#2
screwdriver
37. Manually rotate the OPC drum in the working direction. Make sure the OPC drum
rotates smoothly.
38. Reinstall the PCR assembly securing it with a screw at each end using a PH#2
screwdriver
39. Snap the cable back into the plastic housing
40. Reinstall the rear PCDU cover securing it with a screw using a PH#2 screwdriver
41. Remove the adhesive tape or sticker from the developer unit entrance port
