Role in the modern curriculum

Almost all high schools and colleges today include
Shakespeare’s writings in their curriculum. Julius
Caesar, Romeo and Juliet, The Tragedy of Othello, and
Macbeth are taught in many educational facilities.
Influence on English language and
literature

Shakespeare linked poetry, drama and verse with each other, which had
never been done before. For the versification of the English language, he used
his rhetoric with higher expression. Through poetry, he gave strength to the
language, and by writing dramas, he gave clear ideas that rarely left room for
vagueness.
For example, a widely used phrase “it’s Greek to me”
was created by Shakespeare.

Also, in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Shakespeare

used the phrase “cold-blooded/hot-blooded”
william shakespeare most notable
works
1. Romeo and Juliet (c. 1594–96)

Romeo and Juliet is about a young hero and heroine

whose families, the Montagues and the Capulets,
respectively, are ferocious enemies. Romeo and Juliet's
passionate star-crossed love leads to their demise, which
ultimately serves to pacify the relationship between their
families.
2. Julius Caesar (c. 1599–1600)
is a complex and multifaceted character. In
Shakespeare's play, Julius Caesar is depicted as a
powerful and charismatic Roman general who has
achieved great success in his military campaigns. He is
loved by the Roman people and has become a popular
figure in the city. However, his ambition and the fear of
him becoming a tyrant lead a group of Roman
senators, including Brutus and Cassius, to conspire
against him.

3. Hamlet (c. 1599–1601)
