Annual Report:
● Purpose: It serves a purpose that provides the summary of data and analysis of a
company’s financial and achievements over the past year.
● Differences: Often comprehensive, which includes financial statements,
management discussions, and analyses of the organization's performance.
Preliminary Report:
● Purpose: This is initially prepared by the title company before a more
comprehensive report is developed that presents initial findings, data, or ideas.
● Differences: It is not as polished as final reports and may contain provisional data
or recommendations
Feasibility Report:
● Purpose: To assess the practicality and viability of a proposed project or business
endeavor. This is composed of an assessment of a proposed project or business
endeavor in terms of practicality and viability.
● Differences: It provides broad data based on technical, financial, and operator
factors as to whether to pursue a project.
Progress Report:
● Purpose: This provides stakeholders with updated information on the status of
current projects.
● Differences: Technically it concentrates on monitoring the progress of particular
projects, highlighting achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
Final Report:
● Purpose: To summarize a project's outcomes, findings, and recommendations in
a thorough manner.
● Differences: It is more extensive and detailed compared to progress reports, and
it often marks the conclusion of a project.
Operation Report:
● Purpose: To document and evaluate the performance of operational processes or
systems. It presents documents and evaluations regarding the performance of
operational processes or systems.
● Differences: deals with ongoing processes and may contain information on
efficiency, productivity, and prospective areas for development.
Proposals:
● Purpose: To present a plan or idea and request approval or funding for a project
or initiative.
● Differences: Basically, proposals focus on coming up with an idea that would
support the goal of favoring innovation.
Memorandum Report:
● Purpose: Often to inform within an organization related to a call of action or
persuasion.
● Differences: These are usually shorter in reports and include internal documents
used for communication within a company.
Letter Report:
● Purpose: To convey information, analysis, or recommendations in a letter format.
● Differences: It is considered to be very concise and similar to formal letters while
still containing technical content.
Incident Report:
● Purpose: Used to report an incident with an analysis and documents.
● Differences: It details the occurrence of the incident and then provides a report in
order to prevent or improve that action.
Field Report:
● Purpose: To gather information or data during fieldwork, research, or site visits.
● Differences: It is typically particular when it comes to collecting data in an
external environment and often includes observations, measurements, and
analysis.
Inspection Report:
● Purpose: From the word “inspect” to inspect the condition, quality, or compliance
of products, services, or facilities.
● Differences: It describes the inspection procedure in detail as well as the findings
and any non-compliance issues or recommendations for improvement or
accuracy.
IT Report:
● Purpose: To document and analyze information technology-related matters, such
as system performance, security, or software updates.
● Differences: What sets this report apart is that it often provides technical reports
on IT infrastructure, including problems, solutions, and recommendations for
improvement.
