Gonadotropin releasing
hormone (GnRH)
A hormone that is released by the
hypothalamus. It causes the pituitary gland in
the brain to produce the Luteinizing hormone
(LH) and Follicle-Stimulating hormone (FSH)
FOLLICLE-STIMULATING
HORMONE (FSH)
FSH helps manage the menstrual cycle
and signals development of egg cells
(Oogenesis)
LUTEINIZING
HORMONE (LH)
The pituitary gland sends out LH
during the ovulation part of the
menstrual cycle. This tells the
ovaries to release a mature egg.
ESTROGEN

Released by the ovaries, it plays a


role in ovulation and regulates the
menstrual cycle.
PROGESTERONE
Progesterone helps prepare the body for
potential pregnancy. It is secreted by the
ovaries after ovulation. Also prepares the
endometrium for a fertilized egg to implant
and grow
