Activity 1 – Review and Intro (5 mins)


-Ask ‘how are you’ and ‘how’s the weather?’ and ‘what time is it?’ and ‘what’s your favorite toy?’
-What did we talk about last class? (Art Class)

Activity 2 – Listen (10 mins)


- p.62: listen/point, listen/repeat, listen/number
- talk about hamster and map

Activity 3 – Active Phonics (15 mins)


-last class we learned all the letters of the alphabet
-who remembers a _____ word? What letter does the word apple/dad/fox/key/queen/pig/egg/yellow start
with? What sound does that letter make?
-last week we talked about the sound at the beginning of the word. Today we will talk about the sound at
the end of a word.
-p .55 : let’s read these words together. What letter does it end with? What sound does it make?
-p.61 : write the ending letter

Activity 4 – Dialogues (15 mins)


-p .62 : listen/point, listen/repeat
-Guess ing Game : One student has a card pinned on his back
The other students ask “What’s _____ doing?”
Then the student turns and shows his card
The other students give him hints
When he guesses he should say “I’m …”

-Ask how are you to everyone and invite one student to change the face and word
-What day is it today? What time is it? What month is it? What do you want to be? Whose ___ is this?
-What did you do yesterday?
-What did we talk about last class? (what did you do yesterday? past)
-Review: How M any Can you Name G ame:
-close their books and get into pairs
-one minute to make a list (draw a picture/write the words we studied the last 2 weeks)
-winner is the longest list
-review past tense with a few words (regular and irregular)

Activity 2- Listen and Practice (10 mins)

Activity 4 – Dialogues (10 mins)


-p .62 : listen/repeat
-Word cha in: -one student starts and says “I’m going to the _______”
-the next student repeats “He/She’s going to the ____. I’m going to the _____”
-they must remember what the people before them did.
-If they can remember more than 8 they each get 1 candy, everyone above 8 that they
remember gets more candies.

Activity 5- Build a town (20 mins)


-p.131: Build a t own
-in partners decide where to put the buildings (cut and paste)
-Then partners present their work with magnifying lense
-other groups ask “Is the ___ next to the ____?”
-They present by saying “He/She’s going to the…” and “The ___ is next to the ___”
