Making a Piggy Bank Using Recycled Plastic Bottle

Step 1

Look for an empty bottle. Make sure it is cleaned from the inside out. Prepare the materials
needed as well.

Step 2

Cut the tip of the bottle (the side with the cap). Keep the cap as it will be needed later.
Note: Be careful when using a cutter, seek assistance from your parent or guardian if needed.
Step 3

Get a cap that is bigger than the new tip of the bottle. This will serve as the nose. Cover it with
desired color. Stick it to the tip of the bottle using glue gun. Note: Be careful when using a glue
gun, seek assistance from your parent or guardian if needed.

Step 4
Design the bottle however you want. I just used a color yellow duct tape I saw in our house.
The bottle I used already have a bright color so minimal design is fine.

Step 5

Use a coin to measure the length of the hole of the piggy bank. I used a 20 peso coin to
make sure all sizes of coins can fit in the hole. Mark the hole.

Step 6
Cut the hole marking. We now have the coin hole for our piggy bank!

Step 7

Get 4 similar caps. This will serve as the feet of the piggy bank. Glue it at the bottom
(the side opposite from the coin hole).

Step 8
Draw and cut pig ear shapes on a carton or cardboard.

Step 9

Cover the ears with any material with the desired color. Glue it on the piggybank.

Step 10
Do the finishing touches. I glued the eyes, and nose holes.

Viola! We now have a piggy bank made out of recycled plastic bottle. This will be useful
for keeping my savings this year. 
