TOPICS: Orientation

DISCUSSIONS AND EXAMPLES:

During our orientation in the logic and critical thinking class, I learned how to think more
carefully about the information I come across. It helped me see that not all arguments are
equally strong and that evidence is key. Understanding logical fallacies was eye-opening; I
now see them everywhere, like in ads and social media. Learning about different types of
reasoning, like deductive and inductive, clarified how we form conclusions. Overall, this
class is teaching me to be a smarter thinker in everyday life.

Furthermore, the professor distributed copies of our semester syllabus and divided us into
six groups for presentations, each with a specific topic. I am a member of the first group
tasked with discussing the definition of logic, the functions of the left and right brain
hemispheres, and the importance and practical applications of logic in everyday life.
