1. The objective of public personnel administration is societal objective. Societal Objective is to
socially responsible to the need and challenges of society. This is because they trying to
reduce the negative impact of such demands upon the organization. For example, the
society can limit HR decisions through laws that enforce booking in hiring and laws that
address discrimination, safety, or area of societal concern.
2. There are 2 types of benefits provided by the Malaysian public sector which are mandatory
benefit. Mandatory benefit is an obligatory payment to compensate the job holders in the
performance of work which is deemed necessary foe which the basic pay does not cover. For
examples of Employment Act,1995, employment must give certain benefits to employees
who covered by the act and particularly those earning less than RM1,500 a month. However,
for non-mandatory is not related with money. For example, they gave allowances such as
travel, meal or housing and life insurances, and healthcare benefits .

3. Selection is the process of choosing from a group of applicants the individual and most
deserved the job. There are a few processes of selection which are step 1 is preliminary
interview. Preliminary interview is a selecting a prospective applicant to determine whether
the individual is minimally qualified for employment and eliminate the candidates who are
completely unfit to work in the organization. Next, step 2 is review of applications form or
resume which is a document that contains a summary of relevant job experience and
education for specific employment search. Step 3 is employment test, to identify their own
talents and skills who that know whether qualify or not. Foe example of test is cognitive
aptitude test, psychomotor abilities test, knowledge test and personality test. Step 4 is
employment interview, this is the process by which potential employer are evaluated by
employers for job prospects at their company, organization, or company. Step 5 is reference
checks and background investigation, a way to obtain additional information on the
information provided by the applicant and to verity the accuracy of the information
provided. Step 6 is selection decision, objectively evaluate the candidate based on the
selection criteria, department requirement and selection match between any candidate.
Step 7 is medical examination, to check the physical and mental fitness to ensure that he or
she capable of performing the job. The last step is new employee appointment, to provide a
newly hired employee a write letter of appointment.

4. The importance of career planning is an going whereby an individual sets career goals and
identified the means to achieve them. However, the importance of career developing is
improvement of performance through on the job training experience provided by horizontal.
