About Ritesh ;
➢ He is the founder and CEO of disruptive hospitality
business and app - Oyo Rooms - a network of 2,200
hotels operating in 154 cities across India - with monthly
revenues of $3.5m and 1,500 employees.

➢ It has raised a total of $125million of funding in 4 rounds


from 7 investors. Agarwal has won many awards and
accolades for his work including the Business World
Young Entrepreneur Award.
The Beginning of OYO rooms:
• At age 16, Ritesh was chosen among 240 children to be
a part of Asian Science Camp held at TIFR, Mumbai.
• During that time, Ritesh found free time and started to
travel a lot and stayed in PGS Budgeted Hotels.
• He used to sneak into various events and conferences,
as he couldn't afford to stay at hotels and breakfast
place. There he met many Entrepreneurs and Business
Tycoons.
And there it all started..
Life as an Entrepreneur
FORMATION OF ORAVEL STAYS

➢ In 2011, Ritesh moved Delhi to start something of his


own. Money was not a problem for him as he was
getting a good pocket money of amount Rs-
15,000/month.

➢ Ritesh felt that budget hotels in India didn't even


meets the basic needs of travelers. Capitalizing on this
opportunity, he started his first venture in 2012-
"ORAVEL STAYS“.

➢ Meant for the destinations having short and mid term


rentals with bed and breakfast joints, private
apartments, and many other services.
TRANSFORMATION TO OYO ROOMS

➢ After quitting ORAVELS STAYS, Ritesh went


into thinking mode. With sufficient money in
pocket, started working on new found ideas.

➢ This got him motivated again, to create


another social community to bring
information about all good places together.

➢ At last he presented his new business model


and in 2013 he re-launched ORAVEL STAYS
as OYO ROOMS.

➢ OYO: ON YOUR OWN. It was nothing but an


idea to create India's largest chain of efficient
young standardized rooms with no add-on
charge on an affordable price.
