Alex’s Personal Credo

I believe in treating everyone kindly, in giving others a fair chance to prove

themselves.

I believe in the power of listening, and of hearing what other people need based
on what they have to say, in knowing how powerful words can be.

I believe that being loyal and true to practical, tangible aspects of life (people
and or customs) is more important that sticking to abstract ideals or concepts.

I believe in the power of free thought and of the right to self-expression, as long
as it does not exist at the expense of other people’s own dignity or safety.

I believe in the power of community, and of having a safe space to feel accepted
and belonged in. I believe that true love cultivates good in others.

I believe that rationality is important - and that sometimes, objectivity and

analysis must be used to make decisions. Sometimes, it is better to shift and
change than to stay static.

I believe in the value of adaptability, of being resourceful and doing everything

one can to achieve a goal. In remembering that sometimes (when it does not
hurt people), the methods don’t matter as much as the why.

I believe in loving deep and hard. In making yourself known, in being generous,
brave, and courageous. To let the world know that these are the things you love,
and you won’t be taking no for an answer.

I believe that love is a choice, that love is an act of creation in itself. To keep
believing in the causes you value, the people you care about - you create
warmth and a sense of self in you.
