respectively. Find ∠APB.

33. Find the area of the triangle whose sides are 42 cm, 34 cm and 20 cm. Hence, find the
height corresponding to the longest side.

33.The perimeter of a triangle is 50 cm. One side of a triangle is 4 cm longer than the
smaller side and the third side is 6 cm less than twice the smaller side. Find the area of the
triangle.

34. A hemispherical tank is made up of an iron sheet 1 cm thick. If the inner radius is 1 m,
then find the volume of the iron used to make the tank.

35. ABCD is a square. E, F, G and H are the mid points of sides AB, BC, CD and DA
respectively. Prove that EFGH is a square.

SECTION E

36. Read the passage given below and answer the following questions:
Once four friends Rahul, Arun, Ajay and Vijay went for a picnic at a hill station. Due to
peak season, they did not get a proper hotel in the city. The weather was fine so they decided
to make a conical tent at a park. They were carrying 300 m² cloth with them. As shown in the
figure they made the tent with height 10 m and diameter 14 m. The remaining cloth was used
for the floor to sit on.(Take √149 = 12.2)

I Find the area of the floor?

Ii Find the slant height of the tent?

Iii How much Cloth was left to be used for the floor?

iii. What is the volume of the air in the tent?

37.Ankit visited in a mall with his father. He sees that three shops are situated at P, Q, R as
shown in the figure from where they have to purchase things according to their need. Distance
between shops P and Q is 8 m and between shops Q and R is 10 m. Considering O as the
centre of the circle, answer the following questions.

(ii) What is the length of the longest chord of the circle ?

(iii) Find the area of ∆PQR.

38. Read the passage given below and answer the following questions:

There is a square park ABCD in the middle of Saket colony in Delhi. Four children Deepak,
Ashok, Arjun and Deepa went to play with their balls. The colour of the ball of Ashok,
Deepak, Arjun and Deepa are red, blue, yellow and green respectively.
All four children roll their ball from centre point O in the direction of XOY, X'OY, X'OY' and
XOY'. Their balls stopped as shown in the above image.

Answer the following questions:

i. What are the coordinates of Ashok’s ball?


ii. What is the line XOX’ called?
iii. What is the ordinate and abscissa of Deepa’s ball?

iii. What is the distance of Deepak’s ball from the origin?
