Related Literature
Most people are concerned with food taken daily without regard for
practices or habits which may influence good health. It is a common observation that
when food is presented to a person his/her attention is focused on the aesthetics value
and how the food appeals to the palate, rather than on the nutritional content. This
reality calls for the need to orient people on the cause-and-effect relationship between
eating and health. One's drive for food and the way he is satisfied is important, food is
needed by man not on for energy work and play but also for maintaining body
function such as breathing, beating of the heart, digestion of food, circulation of the
blood, absorption of food, excretion of body waist and other processes. No single type
of food is capable of providing all the nutritional needs of a person. It is therefore
important that daily diet contains the correct amount of all food listed in daily guide to
good nutrition. (Velaquez, 2018)
The State Government of Victoria (2018) said that school canteen and other
school food services are critical educational resources. They are an important part of
the school environment because they feed the students and the rest of the school
community. The school canteen should reflect the school educational goals and
support and complement students learning. When eaten every day, food from the
school canteen can make up as much as a third of a students total daily intake and
have a big impact on their health and nutrition. This shows how vital the school
canteen reflect the school educational goals, so the more it is well managed, the more
its goals and values are upheld. To keep customers happy, facilities should provide a
nice place for students to eat where they can feel more at ease. The people who did
the study for Tarlac State University found that the students were happy because of
the good atmosphere, cleanliness, and taste of the food. The factor that most students
would like to be more satisfied with is the price
According to Pangilinan (2018) services are essential to satisfy your
customers. The students are sometimes exhausted by their subject teachers paperwork.
School canteen staff should serve the customers with a smile, and the staff should be
friendly so students will come back to the canteen. Maniquiz (2018) said that a
canteens management showed not only how good the food was but also howw good
the services was. It shosw that the characteristics of the staff person can satisfy the
students when it comes to service. To make sure the canteen is clean and healthy, the
school needs to know if the students are happy with the services and make that e
priority. The school canteen needs to make policy for the managers, which the staff
will then follow. The school council is responsible for the canteen and its policies, the
employment and dismissal staff, and the ordering of goods for the canteen. The rules
and guidelines have to be followed in most of the school: there must be clean washing
facilities, the canteen must have proper ventilation and lighting, and the facilities
should have a bigger space. The food containers, equipment, and utensils must
maintain their cleanliness. The rules and regulations would help make the students
comfortable and satisfied when it comes to safety standards. (DepEd Order No.13
series of 2018)

Research Settings
Research Respondents
Five (5) students from each section were randomly selected to complete the
sixty (60) students in Dulop National High School were considered as the respondents
of the study.
Research Instrument
In gathering the data, the researcher secured an approval from the office of
the principal from them to be allowed to conduct the study in the school premises.
After, the approval, the researchers personally I formed the adviser or the
subject teacher to administer the survey checklist to the respondents. Immediately
after the conduct of the study, retrieval of the instruments was done and made a
thorough scrutiny of all items to find out whether the questions were properly
answered. Lastly, after all the data were gathered and collected, the researchers
tabulated, analyzed and presented the data in textual and tabular form.
That data gathered were analyzed and interpreted using the following
