Type a summary paragraph (no more than 10 sentences) reflecting on the content shared by guest
speakers. Taking detailed notes during each of the speaker’s presentation will help you create a
meaningful reflection paragraph. Your reflection paragraph should:

1. Summarize the main purpose of the speakers' presentation and name (including title) and where he
work or connected with.

2. Be supported with at least three specific facts/details that the guest speakers provided related to the
main topic.

3. Highlight a detail mentioned by the guest speakers that either interested or surprised you, AND
explain why it did.

4. Include an additional question related to the presenter’s topic.

5. Conclude your paragraph with an overall statement that evaluates the significance of the topic
explored (how/why is this topic important, is this a career or focus that you would be interested in?, etc.)

The First Guest Speaker, is Mr. Dickenson Y. Africa, CPA, CISA, MBA, CBCLA, CDPP currently working as
Deputy Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, and works as the Head of Business Continuity Management
Group at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Mr. Africa talked about the Digital Mistrusts: The Power of
Skepticism in Fighting Online Scams and Fraud, which was an eye-opener to us when it comes to trusting
business entities and offers who are seem too good to be true. He talked about very specific Scams who
usually take place online like Shopping Scams, Job Offers Scams, Freebies Scams and many more, all
timely and relevant with today’s issues. I was glad that he also addressed tips with “Security Ethics”
specifically those situations when you order online, receive your package and just throw away the pack
with all your details and information that other people could take advantage of. The fact that he also
mentioned having great reviews online doesn’t necessarily equate to a positive and safe transaction,
surprised me because most, if not all of the time, I personally scan reviews of customers to know if the
product is really that good and effective, knowing scammers and fraudulent entities could also tamper
that information really surprised me. The second speaker is Ms. Michelle Meneses, CPA, CISA, a Director
and IT Assurance of PWC Philippines, who talked about dealing with AI Revolution. I like how she
explained the relevance of knowing Artificial Intelligence, acquiring skills with regards Computer
Information System and being more involved with technology. I was surprised when she said that there’s
a possibility that Robots might take over the world someday because of AI, but as excited as she is when
she talked about having product of AI that knows how to fold laundry, because I am also patiently
waiting for it to come into existence and used at home. The third and last speaker is Mr. Elvin Mercader,
CPA, CRISC, a Senior Director of SGV and Co. Consulting Service, who talked about Enhancing Career
Readiness: Preparing students for the modern workplace. Mr. Mercader started his talk by introducing
himself as one of the previous lucky winners of the famous TV game show “Who wants to be a
millionaire”. I used to be a top fan of that show because I was amazed with the level of intelligence that
people need to acquire, in order to join and be given a chance to be part of that show. I am very satisfied
with how he actually taught us the skill requirements that we need to have in order to be in a corporate
world, these skills involve Digital Literacy which is somehow connected with the previous talk, Critical
Thinking, Flexibility and Adaptability, Soft Skills, and a lot more that was given emphasis all throughout
the talk. There was even prices for those who could give answers to random questions and to me, it was
overall a fun and productive experience.
