ATHLETICS (REPORT BY GROUP 1)

INTRODUCTION

Also known as track and field or track and field athletics is a collection of sports events that involves
running, throwing and jumping. The term of the word Athletics is derived from the combination of
the four Greek words such as:

 Athleo – Fighting
 Athlos- competition
 Athlon- reward
 Athlete- participant in athletics events

 Strength ( physical strength) - ability of a muscle to exert force.
 2. speed endurance - ability to prolong the amount of time where a near maximal speed can
be maintained .
 3balance - ability to excersice precise control over the bodys positions and movement
 . 4. Coordination - refers to the body's ability to perform smooth and efficient movement.
 5.body composition - refers to the cardiovascular endurance , flexibility , muscular
endurance, muscular strength
 . 6. cardio respiratory endurance- refers to the ability of circulatory and respiratory system to
supply oxygen to skeletal muscles
 7. agility - refers to thr ability to perform irregular movements quickly and accurately
 8. stability - refers to maintain control of the mass of the body while moving or being
moved .
 9. mental resilience- refers to a person / athlete ability to adapt to change or uncertainty.
