Today On 28th of February 2023 under the ambit of Viksit Bharat @2023, an awareness
programme was celebrated at Govt. Degree College Sopore. The Programme was organized by
the NSS units of the college, under the patronage of the worthy Principal of the college Prof (Dr)
Salma Ahad and Co-Patronage of the Inch. Principal Dr. Mairaj ud din Shah. The event
witnessed the healthy participation of the faculty members and students. The event witnessed the

Abida, NSS program officer and Assistant professor in the Department of Islamic Studies
welcomed the faculty and students for being part of the programme. After words all the stood up
to take the staff members and Students stood up to takes the pledge to contribute in nation
building exercise under Viksit Bharat @2047. Afterwards Dr. Mairaj ud din Shah Inch.
Principal highlighted the importance of viksit Bharat intiative to the faculty members and
students. He focused that Viksit Bharat@2047 is the vision of Government of India to make
India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of its independence. The vision encompasses
various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental
sustainability, and good governance. He further stressed that it is important that every youth,
particularly the youth in colleges, universities and institutes to take part in this important nation
building exercise. Afterwords expert lectures were delivered by various faculty members of the
college viz:
1.Dr Ifat Bashir, HOD and Assistant Professor in the Department of Sericulture on silkworm
Rearing and its Allied aspects,
2.Dr Suzana Bashir, Assistant professor in the Department of Botany on Mashroom cultivation:
waste to Health,
3. Dr Tanveer Ahmad Lone, Assistant Professor in the Department of computer science on
artificial intelligence,
4.Dr. Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics on Renewable Energy
resources and
5. Dr. Sheeraz Ahmad Tantary HOD and Assistant Professor in the Department of BBA on
relevance of salesmanship in present scenario.
All the experts highlighted the potential of their respective fields in the light of Viksit Bharat
@2047.
The program was concluded successfully by vote of thanks given by Dr. Wahid Ahmad Sheikh
HOD and Assistant Professor in the Department of Persian in which he expressed his gratitude
towards the College Incharge Principal for providing all the necessary support required for the
programme and also expressed his thankfulness towards the faculty members, students, technical
staff and NSS units of the college for making the event successful.
