NAME: LEPAÑA, APRIL JOYCE S.

COURSE: Teaching Science

PROGRAM:BEED 2-1 SCORE: .

Direction: Answer the following questions to the best of your ability. (5 points each)

1. Science education is important in developing logical and critical thinking as well as

the capacity for methodical organization, how are your going to do it in the
elementary grade students?

The development of logical and critical thinking, as well as methodical organisation skills,
is essential in the teaching of elementary science. As a future teacher, some of the
strategies I might use include involving the students in a hands-on experiment because
many learners learn best through exploration. I can also include group exercises so that
students can discuss their individual viewpoints with one another. In order to strengthen
their critical thinking and organisational skills, students should be encouraged to reflect
on their learning experience, identify areas for development, and devise strategies for
doing so.

2. Science education help kids form a healthy dose of skepticism, in what way are they
helpful?
Science Education helps to kids to teaches children to evaluate information critically. They learn
to question the validity of claims, which is a fundamental aspect of scientific thinking. Also the
analytical approach helps them differentiate between credible scientific information and
pseudoscience or misinformation. The children through science education equips them with
essential life skills, enhancing their ability to think critically, make informed decisions, and
navigate the complexities of the modern world. It empowers them to be discerning individuals
capable of evaluating information objectively and advocating for evidence-based policies and
practices.
3. Why is designing instruction for understanding important element in effective science
instruction?
because, Understanding-based instruction emphasizes the application of knowledge to solve
real-world problems. Students learn to use scientific principles to analyze and address complex
issues, honing their problem-solving skills. It emphasizes connecting new information with
existing knowledge, fostering a coherent understanding of scientific principles. Students see
how different concepts relate to each other, leading to a more holistic comprehension of the
subject matter. The designing instruction for understanding in science education is crucial for
creating a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. It empowers students to become
critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and informed citizens who can actively contribute to scientific
advancements and address global challenges.

4.How are you going apply it in your way of teaching? (Refer to question number 3)
In the future this instruction, I will master this because it’s helps to how I teach my learners
and I will deliver properly and they understand with they will be enjoy. And they be learned
effectively and understand the lesson with they own ideas. This day learning is much better if
student thinking the lesson with they experience.-
