5. When terminal plate is lifted up, eleven terminals Radio pliers


can be seen (main;9 terminals, protecter;2 terminals).
Pull them off.

are small).

¡ Firmly fix terminals so they won't become disconnected.

lightly tap the screwdriver by a plastic hammer to remove
crankcase side-cover with two bolts.

¡ When mounting the rotor, tighten nut by hand so that stop-
per does not bite into screw of crankshaft, and then tighten
in up with a spanner.

4. Hold rotor at its ventilation hole with two (+) headed screw-
drivers and then take it out.
When rotor comes out enough to this side, take it out with
your hands.
5. Remove key for rotor.

8 Valve seat 1. Remove valve seat assembly from crankcase. Screwdriver r

¡ For discharge valve, replace all valve seat assembly.


(Do not disassemble the discharge valve parts as they are

5 Piston and 1. Set small end of connecting rod with piston hole together T type wrench (10mm)
connecting rod and insert piston pin into the holes. Radio pliers

2. Inaly stop rings at both ends of piston.
3. Insert metal into large end of connecting rod in a way the
convex of metal is fixed in the concave of large end.
4. Insert piston and connecting rod ass'y into cyilnder from
the crankcase side then insert oil ring and compression
ring while piston and conncecting rod ass'y is projecting
from crankcase.
¡ Apply sufficient lubricating oil (ICEMATIC SW46) to pe-
riphery of piston and inside of cylinder.
5. After inserting crankshaft into crankcase, set piston ring in
cylinder and join the engraved No. on large end (with met-
al) and set them with clamp bolts for connecting rod.
¡ Apply sufficient lubricating oil (ICEMATIC SW46) to large
end metal and crankshaft pin.
6 Crankshaft ¡ Check wear of crankshaft and replace it with a new crank- Vernier calliper
shaft if necessary. See inspection standards. Micrometer

6. Attach packing for main bearing on oil pump side in a way


oil passage should not be blocked.

¡ Apply sufficient lubricating oil (ICEMATIC SW46) to main


bearing on oil pump side, thrust metal, and packing.
8 Oil pump In case oil pump is dismantled, reassembly it
as described below.
1. Be careful of hole locations of packing for pump so as not
to block oil holes.
2. Join outer roter and inner rotor together and insert them in
oil pump body.
3. In addition, insert reversing retainer.
4. Insert steel ball and spring for reversing retainer.
5. Insert a small steel ball and spring into a small hole be-
tween bolt holes in valve body.
6. Attach head cover so as not to block this small hole. T type wrench (8mm)

¡ When mounting each parts and packing, apply sufficient


lubricating oil (ICEMATIC SW46) to them.
9 Crankcase bottom- 1. Attach single union pipe joint for oil suction strainer to Open ended spanner
cover crankcase. (19mm)
2. Attach oil suction strainer to single union pipe joint. Open ended spanner
¡ Damaged oil suction strainer and union pipe joint should (24mm)
be repaired or replaced with new parts. T type wrench (17mm)
3. Attach magnet to bottom cover.

¡ When mounting packing, apply sufficient lubricating oil
(ICEMATIC SW46) to it.

13 Rotor and crankcase 1. Insert rotor key into crankshaft to fix rotor. T type wrench (46mm)
side-cover 2. Insert crankshaft stopper into crankshaft in a way a curved Scrwdriver (–)
flap of the stopper is put in a rotor. Feeler gauge
3. Attach nut to crankshaft-end. Bend stopper at three points
toward the nut side.
4. Attach crankcase side-cover. Tighten bolts located at T type wrench (13mm)
each diagonal line in order. Take care not to tighten them Torque wrench
one-sidely.
5. Insert suction strainer.
¡ Apply sufficient lubricating oil (ICEMATIC SW46) to
crankcase-end nut, crankshaft pin, and packing.
¡ Damaged parts should be repaired or replaced with new
parts.
14 Terminal and their 1. Attach cords to terminals properly in the reverse order
related parts when they were dismantled.
¡ Damaged parts should be repaired or replaced with new
parts.
¡ Apply lubricating oil (ICEMATIC SW46) to "O" ring.

Repairing standards
1) There are two repairing standards for compressors; i.e. one is clearance standards and the other replacement standards for each
part. Each compressor should satisfy these standards.
1-1) Replace such parts which exceeded relacement standards in overhaul period and such parts which will exceed replacement
standard by next overhaul period.
1-2) Replace one of pairs whose clearance exceeded clearance standards in overhaul period and one of pairs whose clearance
will exceed clearance standards by next overhaul period.
For examples, piston pin and connecting rod and crank pin and crank pin metal, etc.
2) Replacement standards show critical values of wear according to which replacement of parts should be made. It is desirable to
replace such parts whose wear will become critical by next overhaul.

(3) PROCEDURES FOR REPLACEMENT


Replace the valve seat according to the following procedures.

! CAUTION
As this compressor uses ester oil which has high moisture
absorptivity,make sure the following cautions are observed.
1. Do not carry out the work outside if it is rainy.
2. Do not leave the compressor open.
3. Touch up paint peel off caused by assemble and disassemble.

13-1. Oil injection pipe.


(1) Tack two protection rubbers in advance to the oil injection pipe.

(2) Remove the flare nut of the union joint on the compressor oil pump side and the cylinder head side.
(3) Connect the oil injection pipe to the flare nuts of the compressor oil pump side and the union joint of the cylinder
head side.
(4) Adjust the location of the protection rubbers so that they may be located nearby the compressor hanging hook and
the pipe fixing plate.

(5) Fix the protection rubbers to the hanging hook and the pipe fixing plate with Clamp material.
