In 2009, the country’s GNP amounted to P8.81 trillion at current prices. It

At constant prices, GNP rose to P1.65 trillion in 2009. Its growth slowed
down to 4.0 percent from the previous year’s 6.4 percent. Per capita GNP
went up by 2.0 percent to P17,944 in 2009 (Table 1).

In 2009, the per capita GDP at current prices went up to P83,261. In that

Majority of the regions recorded increasing per capita GRDPs in 2009
despite the slowdown in growth. Bicol Region posted the biggest gain at

The top contributors to total GVA in AFF were CALABARZON and Central
Agricultural activities

Agricultural activities Information on the performance of three major sectors of the economy

a/ excluding forestry Among the sectors, AFF remained as the smallest contributor to the
country’s GDP. In 2009, the sector’s share went down to 14.82 percent at
current prices and 18.11 percent at constant prices. The service sector’s
contribution in the 2009 GDP reached 55.0 percent at current prices and
about 50.0 percent at constant prices. The bulk of the share came from
the trade and private services at around 15.0 percent each at current
prices. In real terms, trade dominated the service sector accounting for a
share of 16.70 percent. Shares of the industry sector went down to 30.20
percent at current prices and 32.13 percent at constant prices. The
manufacturing component remained as the biggest source in the
industry sector comprising shares of around 20.0 percent at current and
constant prices (Tables 6a and 6b).
In terms of growth, the service sector posted the biggest gain at 6.6
percent at current prices and 2.8 percent at constant prices. The biggest
growth came from private and government services at more than 10.0
percent at current prices and 6.0 percent at constant prices. AFF sector,
on the other hand, performed better compared to the industry sector.

Growth in AFF sector was 3.3 percent at current prices but zero at

a/ excluding forestry Among the sectors, AFF remained as the smallest contributor to the
country’s GDP. In 2009, the sector’s share went down to 14.82 percent at
current prices and 18.11 percent at constant prices. The service sector’s
contribution in the 2009 GDP reached 55.0 percent at current prices and
about 50.0 percent at constant prices. The bulk of the share came from
the trade and private services at around 15.0 percent each at current
prices. In real terms, trade dominated the service sector accounting for a
share of 16.70 percent. Shares of the industry sector went down to 30.20
percent at current prices and 32.13 percent at constant prices. The
manufacturing component remained as the biggest source in the
industry sector comprising shares of around 20.0 percent at current and
constant prices (Tables 6a and 6b).
In terms of growth, the service sector posted the biggest gain at 6.6
percent at current prices and 2.8 percent at constant prices. The biggest
growth came from private and government services at more than 10.0
percent at current prices and 6.0 percent at constant prices. AFF sector,
on the other hand, performed better compared to the industry sector.

The top contributors to total GVA in AFF were CALABARZON and Central
