event had an enormous impact on society. It totally changed the way people
interact with each-other and how they get access to information. However, this
invention has not only positive, but also negative aspects.
One of the advantages of using computer technologies is access to a huge amount
of information. To say more, there are many social media platforms that simplify
the way we keep in touch with people all around the world. According to statistics,
more than 5 billion of the world’s population are active users of social media for
the purpose of being connected with their friends. Besides, the technologies
proved to be a strong tool for facilitating the work process. During Covid-19
pandemic people had to work online with the help of computer mediated
innovations. To put it in a nutshell, using computer technologies eases the way
people interact both on personal and professional level.
On the other hand, there are also a few disadvantages of ever-increasing use of
technology. Firstly, in our fast-paced world, using online interaction devices on a
continuous basis reduces valuable face-to-face interactions. As people use various
social media platforms to communicate, they may face some challenges with
expressing their thoughts and feelings precisely and being misunderstood.
Secondly, it can be harmful for health in the long-run. It can cause eye strain, back
pain, insomnia, depression, and even memory problems if used excessively.
Overall, the drawbacks of technological advancements cannot be unnoticed.
Taking into account all of the above, we can state that value of computer
technologies for humanity is priceless and even considering all of its negative
aspects, its impact on us is more positive rather than negative.
