4.1 Introductory Activity Activity 1: Picture Analysis. A picture of illegal drugs
5 minutes will be presented to the class. The learners will give their
knowledge about the effects of using illegal drugs.

Ask: What could be the situation of the Philippines at this


moment if there is no illegal drugs circulating in the
country?

4.2 Activity/Strategy Activity 2: Jigsaw Puzzle_Topic Review: The learners


15 minutes will be grouped into 5 working teams. Each team will
draw a paper strip with algebraic expressions to be
evaluated. The members will discuss among their group
how they solve the problem.

1. 2 x−1 ,
what is the value of the expressionif x=2?
2. 3 x 2+ 2 x−4 ,
what is the value of the expressionif x=3 ?

what is the value of the expressionif x=0?

After 5 minutes of solving, the learners will be regrouped


again for another 5 working teams. This time, the
members from the previous groups will share their
problems and solutions with their new teammates.

4.3 Analysis Say: This time we will see the connection and the
5 minutes relevance of the activities we’ve done earlier.

ASK: What did you do to be able to answer the items


given to your group?

What mathematical basic skill/s needed in evaluating a

Base on our previous activities, what can you deduce on


how to evaluate functions?

4.4 Abstraction The topic evaluating functions will be introduced to


10 minutes the learners through an interactive lecture discussion
with a lesson integration in Personal Development
