Factors that influence a writer in creating a piece of

writing, especially a literary work.

History
refers to past significant events that possibly
affected the life of the writer. These events may
also have come into his/her knowledge either by
witnessing the events or by learning about them
from other sources.
Environment
refers to the condition of the society during the time a text
was written by its author. It includes people and their
relationship with the author, which affects his/her life and
works. It may also include events, both man-made and
natural, such as conflicts, political events, or calamities.
 Culture
It may be defined as the “man-made part of the
environment,” (Herskovits in Prinz 2011) which
consists of the beliefs, knowledge, art, laws, and
morals of a group of people.
 ACTIVITY
