INTRODUCTION

A hospital booking management system for (Muritala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Kano) is
a digital solution designed to streamline the process of scheduling and managing appointments
for patients and healthcare providers within a hospital or clinic setting. This system facilitates
efficient booking, rescheduling and cancellation of appointments, while also providing
essential tools for resource allocation, patient communication and data management.

REQUIREMENTS
System requirements
The system would be able to
• Create and manage appointment for patients
• Improve data accuracy and integrity.
• Manage patient data and generate reports.
• Increase data security.
• Provide better business process visibility.

User requirements
The system should provide users with ability to:
• Users should be able to view and manage their appointment
• Search for patient records by name, date of birth, or other identifiers.
• Add, edit, or delete patient information.
• View patient records in a clear and organized way.
• Generate and print reports.
• Navigate the system with ease and efficiency.
• Receive alerts and notifications about patients.

Functional requirements
The system should provide the following functional capabilities:
• The system should allow users to create, view and manage appointments
• The ability to generate prescriptions based on patients’ data.
• The ability to encrypt patients’ data for security.
• The ability to create new patients records.
• The ability to generate reports based on specific criteria.

❖ It can also help to identify any potential problems or risks early in the
development process, allowing them to be addressed.
