Fax Definition

Fax is the short form of Facsimile. A modern device is used for transmitting
various written papers like diagrams, drawings, sketches, letters, circulars, articles,
etc.

It is an improved electronic version of the tale fax machine. It is one of the latest
devices for sending written information and message from one place to another
when both places have fax machines.

Fax machines are interrelated by telephone lines. The facsimile of the written
information is transmitted to the addressee and it is simultaneously reproduced on
paper automatically in the receiving machine.

Advantages of Fax

Advantages of the fax are the following:

1. Speedy Transmission: Fax enables transmission of the message, data, diagram,


sketches, and drawing with exceptionally high speed.
2. Accuracy of Information: It helps to send written information to any place
within or outside the country accurately.
3. Legal value: Fax provides a written record of the transmitted message and it can
be used as a document in a court of law.
4. Overcoming barrier: Fax can be sent to any point where there is the
availability of the telecommunication system. There is no hassle to carry the
document physically.
5. Confirmation of Receiving: Fax provides confirmation for the data or
information received by the user.

A voicemail is an electronically stored voice message that is left by a caller to be


retrieved later by the intended recipient. The recipient can retrieve the stored
message through phone, desktop, email and other communications devices,
depending on the business phone system the recipient's company uses.

Email (electronic mail) is the exchange of computer-stored messages by


telecommunication. Email messages are usually encoded in American Standard
Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) text. However, you can also send
nontext files -- such as graphic images and sound files -- as attachments sent in
binary streams.

What is Teleconferencing?

Teleconference connects several participants at the same time with the help of
telecommunications devices. It allows attendees from different locations to
participate in a virtual business meeting instead of in-person meetings.

Teleconferencing is a newly developed method of electronic communication. It is a


kind of communication where people staying in different locations participate in
the group meeting or group discussion through electronic technology. The
participants of the teleconference are usually located in different corners of the
world. Teleconferencing is of two types: audio conferencing and video
conferencing.
