Energy is the ability to do work. Work is being done whenever some physical force is being used to
move an object some distance. Energy is everywhere and it can do a lot of things. Energy is invisible. If
you see children running on the street and a light from the lampshade, hear a sound from the radio, or
feel the heat of the sun, you can be sure that energy is in action. All living and non-living things need
energy. It warms our planet enough to make life possible. It enables people to do household chores or
work in school. It illuminates every home, operates appliances, and moves cars. In Physics, energy is
described as the ability to do work or make changes in certain conditions.

Energy can be classified in two types: kinetic and potential energy.

Kinetic energy is an energy in motion. Kinetic energy is


the energy an object has when it is in motion. All moving objects
have kinetic energy. A girl dancing, a farmer plowing in the field
and a moving car have kinetic energy. Not all moving objects
have the same amount of kinetic energy. The amount of kinetic
energy a moving object has depends upon its mass and speed of
movement. If the two moves at the same speed, the larger object
has the greater kinetic energy. If two objects have the same
mass, the object moving faster has the greater kinetic energy.

Potential energy is energy stored in an object at rest.


Potential energy is energy at rest. It is called as such because
the object that possesses it has the ability (potential) to cause
change and to make things work. An object has potential energy
because of its position and its composition. The rock on top of
the hill has potential energy. This energy is due to its position.
Although the rock is not moving, it has the potential to move or
to roll down the hill because of its position. The amount of
potential energy an object has is affected by the mass of an
object and its distance from the ground.

An Algebraic expression, or simply an expression, is any meaningful combination of numbers,
variables, and operation symbols, while an equation is a Mathematical sentence with an equal sign (=)
which shows that two expressions on either side are equal. An important part of Algebra involves
translating word phrases into Algebraic expressions.

To translate word phrases into Algebraic expressions, the important thing to do is to familiarize the
words and phrases associated with symbols or operations.

In an Algebraic expression, any letter or symbol that represents a number is called a variable. In
this expression, a number may replace a variable. A specific number represents a constant.

A term is a number or variable, or a product or quotient of a number and variables raised to a


specified power. The terms are separated by plus (+) or minus (-) sign. It is not necessary to write the +
sign at the beginning of a term. The numerical factor of a term is called coefficient.

In the above expression (i.e. 2x + 5),


➢ x is a variable whose value is unknown to us which can take any value.
➢ 2 is known as the coefficient of x, as it is a constant value used with the variable term
and is well defined.
➢ 5 is the constant value term which has a definite value.

Ito ay may layunin na maprotektahan ang mga uri ng hayop at halaman na kakaunti na
lamang sa kanilang kinalalagyan. At upang mapreserba ang mga natitirang uri nito.
 Batas Pambansa 7638 (Department of Energy Act of 1992)
Ito ay naglalayong tumulong sa mga programa ng pamahalaan tungkol sa pagpapaunlad ng
serbisyo at konserbasyon ng enerhiya.
 RA 9275 (Philippine Clean Water Act)
Ito ay may layunin na mabigyan ng malinis na tubig sa mga mamamayan.
 RA 9147 (Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act)
Pagbibigay proteksiyon sa mga maiilap na hayop. At pagbabawal sa pangongolekta at
pabebenta sa mga ito.
 RA 8749 (Philippine Clean Air Act)
Layunin nito na panatilihing malinis ang hanging nilalanghap. Nakapaloob din dito kung
paano magkakaroon ng epektibong pamamaraan upang maiwasan ang pagkakaroon ng
maduming hangin at mabawasan ang polusyon.

Epekto ng Philippine Rehabilitation Act of 1946


Ang batas ay magdudulot ng milyun-milyong dolyar na US para sa rehabilitasyon at pagtatayo ng
bansa, gayunpaman, bilang kapalit ng tulong pang-ekonomiya ng Estados Unidos, inilatag ng Estados
Unidos ang isang kondisyon. Ito ay ang tinawag na Parity Rights o pantay na karapatan ng Pilipinas At
Estados Unidos na gamitin at pakinabangan ang mga mapagkukunan ng bansa, at itatayo ang mga
mahahalagang pampublikong kagamitan sa Pilipinas.

A. Napilitan ang mga Pilipino na sumang-ayon sa kasunduan na ipinapatupad ng Amerikano.

Parity Rights – ay ang patakarang nagbigay ng karapatan sa pantay na pakinabang sa likas na
yaman ng mga Amerikano at Pilipino sa Pilipinas.
Mabuting Epekto ng Parity Rights
1. Madaling napaunlad nito ang pangangalakal at industriyang itinayo ng mga Amerikano sa
Pilipinas.
2. Dumagsa ang mas maraming bilang ng mga produktong Amerikano sa pamilihan ng
Pilipinas.
3. Nagkaroon ng mabuting ugnayan sa dalawang bansa.

Pakikipag-ugnayan ng Militar sa United States


Ang pangunahing suliraning hinarap ni Roxas sa kanyang panunungkulan dahil sa malaking
pinsala dulot ng digmaan ay sa pagsasaka at industriya. Naging malapit ang ating bansa sa United States
noong mga panahong iyon sa paniniwala ni Pangulong Roxas na ang katatagan ng bansang Pilipinas ay
nakasalalay sa pakikipagkaibigan sa Estados Unidos.
Ipinagpatuloy ang kasunduan ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos tungkol sa Base Militar na pirmahan noong
Mayo 14,1947 kung saan binigyan ang Estados Unidos ng karapatang upahan ang mga base militar sa
loob ng 99 na taon. Bukod sa Kasunduang Tulong Militar (Military Assistance Agreement) na unang
nilagdaan noong Marso 21, 1947 ay nilagdaan pa ang isa pang kasunduan noong Agosto 30,1951. Ito ang
kasunduan sa Pagtatanggol sa isa’t isa (US-RP Mutual Defense Treaty).

isang panig. Kinakailangan ang malalim na pananaliksik at talas ng pagsusuri sa proposisyon upang

Ang mga dahilan at ebidensyang inyong sinulat ay tinatawag na argumento. Ito ay isang elemento
ng pangangatwiran. Ito ay ang paglalatag ng mga dahilan o ebidensya upang maging makatuwiran ang
isang panig. Ang bawat pahayag ay may dalawang uri: opinyon o katotohanan.

Ang opinyon ay mga pahayag ayon sa paniniwala o ideya ng isa o iilang tao lamang batay sa
kanilang karanasan o napapansin sa mga bagay at mga pangyayari sa paligid na hindi pa lubusang
napatunayan at walang mabigat na pruweba o ebidensya.

Samantalang ang katotohanan ay mga tunay na kaganapan, bagay at kaalaman na napatunayan


na ng nakararami o ng siyensya. Ito ay masusing pinagaralan at napatunayan ng mga propesyunal at mga
eksperto na may mabigat na pruweba.

transferring from one object to another. As time goes by, printmaking process changed from simple
process that uses stencil and woven mesh, from modern processes that uses heat press machine and

Printmaking is a technique to create or produce designs by printing using sets of materials and is an
art form where an image is transferred from one surface to another. There are many ways to make a t-shirt
design by printing. Silk screen printing is one of them. There are four (4) processes in Printmaking: Relief
Printing, Intaglio Printing, Lithography and Screen Printing.
1. Relief Printing – is a printmaking process where protruding surface faces of the printing plate or
block are inked; recessed are ink free.
2. Intaglio Printing – a printmaking technique where a plate is incised so the ink lies

3. Lithography Printing – it is a printing method on the principle that oil, and water do not mix.
4. Screen Printing – is a technique that involves using a wooden mesh screen to support a stencil that
prevents the ink from receiving a desired image.

Silk Screen Printing is one of the techniques of printmaking where ink or paint is applied on the
stencil on the wooden screen frame or mesh using a fill blade or squeegee. Your stencil or the cut-out
design will be transferred on the surface by the application of ink or paint on the screen holes.

An orchestra is a large instrument ensemble typical of classical music which combines
instruments from the different families played together by the group of musicians.

Classification of Instrument in Orchestra


1. The string Instrument
- is the instrument that are played by using a bow or by plucking the strings.

The different String instruments:


a. Viola – it is a little bigger and tuned a fifth lower than violin.
b. Cello – it is a bigger than a viola but a smaller than the
double bass. It is tuned in perfect fifths and played by
plucking the strings.
c. Bass – it is the biggest and has the lowest pitch in the string
family, it may be plucked or bowed while the player is
standing because of its large body.
d. Harp – it is made up of 47 strings. It has a wide range of
pitches and can produce both very low and high sounds. It is
played by plucking the strings.

2. Woodwind Instrument
- is the instrument are played by blowing air into a single or double reed, which attached to a
mouthpiece reed is thin strip of materials which produces sounds in a musical instrument when it
vibrates.

The different Woodwind Instrument:


a. Piccolo -the smallest woodwind instrument. It
produces pitches that are an octave higher than flute.
b. Flute – the flute can produce high pitch sounds in
rapid succession. Orchestral flutes are usually made of
metal although some are made of wood. Flute is an
aerophone or reedless known as edge-blown wind
instrument.
c. Oboe – it has two reeds in the mouthpiece. It is
considered the most expensive woodwind instrument.
d. Clarinet -the clarinet is a woodwind instrument with
only one reed. It can produce a wide range of low to
high notes versatile sounds.
e. Bassoon – the biggest and has the lowest pitch in the
woodwind family. It can produce a comic and unique
sound that’s why it is called as “clown” of the orchestra.
3.The brass instruments
-is a musical instrument that produces sounds by sympathetic vibration of air in a tubular resonator
in sympathy with the vibration of the player ‘slips.

The different Brass Instrument:


a. Trombone – it has a pitch that is little lower than the
trumpet. It is the only sliding instrument that shifts
pitch in any key.
b. French Horn – it has length of tubing coiled into a
circular shape with flares into a bell at the end. It
produced mellow sounds and played by blowing air into
its funnel shaped mouthpiece.
c. Tuba – the biggest and has the lowest pitch in the brass
family. Sound is produced by vibrating lips into its cup-
shaped mouthpiece.
4.The Percussion Instrument
- The percussion is the largest in the orchestra. Percussion instrument include any instrument
that makes a sound when it is hit, shaken, or scraped.

The different Woodwind Instrument:


a. Snare Drum – It provides a rattling sound in a
composition because of the metal wires attached
diagonally at its bottom head.
b. Timpani – a single drumhead that has definite pitch. It
is usually played in pairs and its sound is produced by
striking its drumhead with a mallet.
c. Bass drum – the biggest and has the lowest pitch of the
percussion family.
d. Cymbals – They are pairs of round plate-like instrument
clashed together or played by striking them with a
better.
e. Xylophone – They are percussion instrument consisting
of graduated series of wooden bars, usually sounded by
striking with a small wooden or mallet.

The Methods of Enhancing and Decorating the Product


There are different methods and considerations of enhancing and decorating products. Depending on the
availability of materials, customer’s preference, and marketability of the product.

Methods of Enhancing Wood and Bamboo Products:

1. Wood Turning - is a process of using a lathe to make various forms and shapes of wood.

2. Pyrography - the art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated
metallic point.

3. Hand Carving - is considered a woodcraft in which a sharp object is used to create designs on the wood. Chip
carving knife, gouges and chisels are used in this technique.
4. Flocking Technique - lines the interior of drawers and boxes with a soft velvety finish

5. Inlaying - combines several techniques that involve inserting decorative pieces into a base object to incorporate
new designs on the original products.

6. Gilding - decorative technique in which powder is applied on wood or other materials to give a thin coating of gold.
Method of this technique include gluing, chemical gilding, and electroplating/coating.

7. Staining - is used to color wood to give an illusion of texture. This may come in two varieties.
A. Pigment-based stain will color large pores of the wood
B. Dye-based stain will color small pores of the wood

8. Painting - the simplest way of decorating wood since there are a variety of colors that you can choose from. One
may also add a lacquer finish to make it shiny and glossy.

Methods of Enhancing Metal Products

1. Engraving - transferring a design on metal using hardened steel tool called burin or graver to cut into the surface
of the metal.

2. Etching - is a process used to make designs or pictures on a metal plate by using acid that produces corrosive
action.
How Etching is made:
A. Etching begins with metal plate, most commonly copper.
B. Acid resistant wax, called the ground, is applied to the entire surface of the plate.
C. The artist scratches an image into the surface using a burning (needle), exposing the metal
underneath.
D. Once the image is complete, the plate is submerged in an acid.
E. The acid will bite away at the exposed metal, creating recessed lines on the plate.
F. The plate is then removed and cleaned.
G. The plate is inked. Ink fills the lines on the plate created by the acid.
H. The excess ink is removed so the ink only remains in the recessed lines.
I. Dampened paper is placed over the plate and put through a printing press.
J. The press squeezes the paper and plate together, impressing an inked image onto the paper.
K. Additional impressions can be created by re-inking, cleaning, and putting the plate through the
printing press again.

3. Metal Enhancing Media - use of metal paints, markers and antiquing kits give color to the metal product. Metal
paints may be applied using a brush or spray.

4. Texturing and Embossing - in this technique, you will need a hammer, metal, stamp, stencils, and other materials
to create imprints on the metal.
