Impact of Spanish imposed institution.

Forced labor – During the time of Spanish era, we Filipinos were made us slaves, the Spaniards had done
weakid things of our people which led to having the name of the 11 Evil Colonial Power.

Encomienda – The encomienda system divided the Philippines into territories headed the Encomiendo.
An encomienda consisted of a grant the crown to a conquistador, a soldier, an official, or others of a
specified number of “Indious” living in a particular area.

Galleon Trade- Galleon trade is a ship sailing in the sea, and it has a product on it, like foods, gold’s and
many more. This is because in the past years what we need is not in here it is in the other country, so
that the ship or galleon trade occur.

Tribute and Taxes – The arrival of Spaniard altered this subsistence system because of the payment of
the tributes from the Philippines, similar to what had been practice. The purpose is to generate
resources to finance the maintenance of the islands such as salaries of government officials, 16 -60 years
old obliged to pay tribute.
