Roles and _responsil Accreditation Council The accreditation council shall have the following roles and responsibilities: 1) Designs action plan for the accreditation council, 2/ Examines and approves the program accreditation decisions forwarded by the tcam of assessors 9. Members of the accreditation council shall decide the council's meeting schedule 2! Accreditation Decision and Duration Based on the findings of the accreditation have | assessment conducted, the HEIs institutional and | program accreditation decisions shall be: 1/ Full Accreditation a) Is an accreditation granted to an institution or a program for a period of five years based on the accreditation assessment result of the institution or program falls in the highest category of the accreditation result cut off point stated in the guideline 2/ Accreditation with condition a) Is an accreditation granted to an institution or a program for a period of three years based on the accreditation assessment result of the institution oF program when its assessment result falls in the medium category of the accreditation result cut off point stated in the guideline. 3/ Denial of Acereditation a) The institution shall be denied accreditation when the institution's assessment result falls within the the lowest category of the accreditation result cut off point guideline set by the authority. b) The institution or program which is denied accreditation shall re-apply for accreditation one year after the date of denial of accreditation. Can ion of Accreditation The authority shall reassess the institution's accreditation decision any time and shall get its accreditation cancelled for either of the following reasons. a) Where the institution or program fails to maintan the systems and resources that were in place during the assessment time. b) Where the institution or program fails to request renewal of accreditation within the proper time range. ©) Where it is proved by evidence that the institution or the program has violated the legal procedures put in place by the authority. 21. Special Assessment Conditions that necessitate a special accreditation assessment: 1 Where the ministry of education or any other appropriate authority amends the educational system or policy; 2/ Where there is proof and evidence indicating that the accreditation granted to the program or institution is erroneous! faulty. 22. Limited Assessment Conditions that necessitate partial (limited) acereditation assessment: 1/ Conducted to prove that the institution or the program which has been granted fan accreditation on condition has addressed areas of improvement suggested by the time preconditions have been addressed. 2/ To promote an institution or a program
