1. CHARTER-
a) It is a written description of how an organization is to be formed and
how it should function.
b) A charter was signed on 24th October 1945 which created a new
international organization called as The United Nations
Organization(UNO).
2. DISARMAMENT-
a) The reduction or withdrawal of weapons and the military forces is
called as disarmament.
b) The UN favours disarmament.

3. This charter created a new international organization called the United
Nations Organization (UNO).

Ans. The objectives of UNO are as follows:

Ans. 1. The UN has been very successful in maintaining peace in the world. It
has been able to solve many international disputes.
2. It has prevented the conflicts from turning into major wars. It is
involved in peacekeeping operations.
3. It makes efforts to prevent misuse of destructive weapons. Today,
world is a better place to live in largely due to the efforts of the UN.

Ans. India is one of the founder members of the UN. India is very actively
involved in all the activities of the UN.
