OVERALL MODERATE

Physics:
• Difficulty level was on easier side as compared to JEE (Advanced) 2022.
• Overall paper was in the moderate category.
• More weightage was given to Class XII syllabus as compared to Class XI.
• Approximately 55% questions asked were from Mechanics & Electromagnetism units.

Chemistry:
• Difficulty level was slightly on higher side as compared to JEE (Advanced) 2022.
• Overall paper was in the moderate category.
• Class XII weightage was more as compared to Class XI syllabus.
• Approximately 73% questions asked were from Organic & Physical chemistry.

Mathematics:
• Difficulty level was similar as compared to JEE (Advanced) 2022.
• Overall paper was in the moderate to difficult category.
• Slightly more weightage was given to Class XI as compare to class XII syllabus.
• Approximately 63% questions asked were from Calculus, Algebra & Coordinate
Geometry.

Detailed Analysis of
JEE (Advanced) 2023

Physics:
• Approximately 70% questions belong to the moderate category.
• In Mechanics, important chapters were System of particles & Rotational motion,
Motion in a plane, Fluids, etc.
• In Electromagnetism, important chapters were Current Electricity, Moving charges &
Magnetism, Electric charges and fields, Electrostatic Potential & capacitance etc.
• In remaining units, majority of questions were asked from Heat & Thermodynamics,
then after Modern Physics, then Optics and then Oscillation & Waves.

Chemistry:
• XII and XI portion was in 60 : 40 ratio.
• Approximately 60% questions belong to the moderate category.
• In Physical, important chapters were Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Chemical
kinetics, Thermodynamics, Solutions & colligative properties etc.
• In Organic, important chapters were Aldehydes, Ketones & carboxylic acids, Amines,
Hydrocarbons, Biomolecules.
• In Inorganic, important chapters were The P-Block elements, Principles of qualitative
analysis, Coordination compounds, General principles and processes of isolation of
elements etc.

Mathematics:
• Approximately 80% questions belong to easy to moderate category.
• The majority of questions were from Calculus, Probability, Algebra, Vectors & 3 –
Dimensional Geometry and Coordinate Geometry.
• In Calculus, important chapters were Definite integrals, Application of derivatives,
Continuity & differentiability.
• In Algebra, important chapters were Matrices & Determinants, Sequences & Series.

Question Paper Analysis
OVERALL MODERATE

Physics:
• Difficulty level was similar in comparison to JEE (Main) 2022.
• Overall paper was in the easy to moderate category.
• Almost equal weightage was given to Class XI & Class XII syllabus.
• Approximately 60% questions asked were from Mechanics & Electromagnetism units.

Chemistry:
• Difficulty level was on little bit upper side as compared to JEE Main 2022.
• Overall paper was in the easy to moderate category with a few difficult questions.
• Class XII weightage was more as compared to Class XI syllabus.
• Approximately equal weightage was given to all three units i.e., Organic, Inorganic &
Physical Chemistry.

Mathematics:
• Difficulty level was similar in compared to JEE Main 2022.
• Overall paper was in the moderate category.
• Almost equal weightage was given to Class XI & XII syllabus.
• Approximately 57% questions asked were from Calculus, Algebra units.

Detailed Analysis of
JEE (Main) 2023

Physics:
• Approximately 97% questions belong to easy to moderate category.
• In Mechanics, important chapters were System of Particles & Rotational Motion, Units
and Measurement, Work, Energy & Power etc.
• In Electromagnetism, important chapters were Current Electricity, Electric Potential &
Capacitance, Moving Charges & Magnetism etc.
• In remaining units, majority of questions were asked from Modern Physics, then equal
weightage was given to Heat & Thermodynamics and Optics, thereafter, Oscillation &
Waves.

Chemistry:
• Approximately 85% questions belong to easy to moderate category.
• In Organic, important chapters were Biomolecules, Polymers, Aldehyde, Ketone &
Carboxylic Acid, Some Basic Principles & Techniques etc.
• In Inorganic, most of the questions were asked from NCERT, important chapters were
Chemical Bonding, Co-ordination Compounds, The S-Block elements, Hydrogen, The
P-Block elements, etc.
• In Physical Chemistry, important chapters were Liquid Solutions, Electrochemistry,
Redox Reactions & Volumetric Analysis, Equilibrium, Thermodynamics, Chemical
Kinetics etc.

Mathematics:
• Approximately 88% questions belong to easy to moderate category.
• The majority of questions were from Algebra, Calculus, Co-ordinate Geometry,
Three-dimensional Geometry Vectors.
• In Calculus, important chapters were Limits, Continuity & Differentiability,
Application of Derivatives, Definite Integrals, Differential Equations.
• In Algebra, important chapters were Matrices & Determinants, Sequences & Series,
Binomial Theorem & Applications and Complex Numbers.
