The district of Al-Mughaisilah, It is one of the residential

neighborhoods in Medina located in Bani Dinar, was originally


outside the outer wall of the city until the construction of the
Hejaz Railway station in the early 20th century. The western side
of the outer wall, known as Bab Al-Anbariyah,
A small gate was also built on the western side behind Al-
Anbariyah Mosque, known as Bab Al-Mughaisilah. It was made of
stone and mud, and it is located near a tower known as Al-
Mughaisilah tower, which is part of the extension of the outer
wall. This tower is connected to the wall from the west with
columns and supports of Bab Al-Mughaisilah, and it is connected
to the other side with the city wall, which is connected to Bab Al-
Anbariyah.

Al-Mughaisilah neighborhood is situated southwest of Al-Nawi


Mosque, about 900 meters away. It covers an area of 1.4 million
square meters and contains 3,300 buildings. The population of the
neighborhood is approximately 26,200.
Al-mughaisilah has an important government facilities such as the
regional government and municipality, in addition to its
archaeological landmarks. It has around 70 historical and religious
sites, including the historic castle building and the stone square.

Al-Mughaisilah is considered an area with historical significance to


the city of Al-Madinah, especially its mosque, which is associated
with the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is
known as the Mosque of Bani Dinar bin Al-Najjar from the Khazraj
tribe.
The Al-Mughaisilah neighborhood in Al-Madinah is bordered by
several districts and areas in all four directions, which are as
follows:

1. North: It is bordered by the Quba neighborhood. Quba


neighborhood is famous for the Quba Mosque, which is one
of the well-known mosques in Al-Madinah and attracts
visitors to the city.

2. South: It is bordered by the Al-Aziziyah neighborhood. Al-


Aziziyah is a residential and commercial neighborhood that
includes numerous shops and various services.

3. East: It is bordered by the Al-Awali neighborhood. Al-Awali is


a quiet residential neighborhood that consists of many
residential houses and basic services.

4. West: It is bordered by the Al-Baqi'’neighborhood. Al-Baqi’ is


renowned for the Al-Baqi’ Cemetery, which contains the
graves of several companions and prominent Islamic figures.
Visitors come to pray, visit the graves, and engage in acts of
devotion.

neighborhood and its history and studied its location, of course
there are suggestions for architectural designs that could be of
benefit and related to the history of the neighborhood and cover
its needs.
