AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting

Thank you Accountancy

Learning for a wonderful
AAT programme.
I started my AAT Level 2 during the lockdown caused by the
Covid19 pandemic and I chose a self-study course because of
my circumstances.

I think it’s great that they offer a self-study option for the
students with low budgets.

Being a foreigner with not much work experience in the UK, I

felt quite stuck in terms of my career, working in a restaurant.
But thanks to the great online course they provided, I
managed to achieve the qualification with a merit (an overall
score of 97%!), and I’m very happy to say that I started a new
job last week as an accounts assistant at a law firm! While I
am realising the accounting for solicitors is a whole different
area, I do believe that it was my AAT qualification that gave
me the chance to get into accounting!

So thank you very much and I will definitely recommend

Accountancy Learning courses to others who want to study
AAT.

AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting

About your Level 3

Accounting course
This qualification is the normal
progression route for those who have
achieved either the AAT Level 2 Certificate
in Accounting or the AAT Level 2
Certificate in Bookkeeping.
It is also applicable for those who have prior accounting/
bookkeeping qualifications or have already started working in
finance.

Students will develop an understanding of business and its structure and

purpose, as well as appreciating the wider business environment. Students
will develop skills supporting complex financial processes, such as final
accounts, reports and returns, use of technology to provide management
accounting information, and completion of VAT returns.

We know it can be daunting to start on any new course, (especially if you

are new to AAT) so we have put together this guide to try and answer any
question you may have before beginning your AAT studies.

Our guide includes an overview of the AAT’s qualifications, how they work
and how we deliver them. We encourage you to read this guide thoroughly
before enrolling with us or any other provider – it’s important for you to have
all the pieces of the puzzle in place before you embark on your AAT journey!

AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting

I’d recommend to anyone who

wants to do a course like this
I found Accountancy Learning online and sent a ridiculously long e-mail full
of questions but got a lovely, helpful response back and I knew they were the
right people for me! I have loved studying my Level 2 course with them and
I think the Moodle, coupled with the test for each section really helped me
learn and to make sure I had grasped each topic before I moved on. I have
now moved onto the Level 3 course and am enjoying that just as much.

I really feel this is the start of a new career for me and can’t thank
Accountancy Learning enough for all of their help so far.

Since then...
Francesca has completed her AAT (Level 3) Certificate in Bookkeeping (she
achieve the AAT (Level 2) Foundation Certificate in Accounting as well as the
AAT Level 3 Bookkeeping qualification within 8 months), and this is what she
said:

“Thanks so much though for all of your help throughout, as I’ve said to Prue
many times, I’d recommend you guys to anyone who wanted to do a course
like this. I wouldn’t be where I am now without you (Chrissy) & Prue and I’m
so grateful to have achieved everything so much quicker than I ever imagined
when I started.”

How will I study?

Traditionally, distance learning
used to be undertaken on a
correspondence course basis;
however, times have changed a lot
since then with the advancements
in technology…
Distance Learning is now very flexible, so you can
study your AAT course from the comfort of your own
home at a time that suits you - all you need is an
internet connection!

Whilst you will be able to study at your own pace, you do need
to be self-motivated (if you think you might need a helping hand,
then one of our experienced, highly qualified personal tutors
can help keep you on track – more about that later).

We all learn differently too, so it’s important to ensure that the

learning resources will suit your preferred learning style. Our
materials include a mix of study textbooks (Osborne) and online
learning resources – please see the next page to see what our
comprehensive resources include.

Self-study or
Tutor Supported?
The package you choose will be
determined by the level of coaching
and tutor support you think you’ll need
to help you successfully complete your
course.
We would be delighted to discuss what might work best for you (generally
based on your prior knowledge and experience). You’ll be pleased to
know that our exceptionally ‘high pass rates’ apply to both our self-study
and tutor supported courses – a good indicator that our initial advice and
guidance is usually ‘spot on’.

Please see details of our three different course packages overleaf.

AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting

Self-Study EXTRA:
Studying via our Self-Study Extra package means that you will have full
access to all of our learning materials. Our resources include Progress
Tests, Practice Assessments and Mock Exams, which you will be
expected to complete during your course. Don’t panic though, as we will provide you
with all the answers so that you can mark your own work.
If you get stuck along the way though e.g. with a topic or study task, the only thing you
will not be able to do, is ask a tutor to help you with it! However, the good news is that
you can upgrade to a tutor supported package at any time, as needed.

Tutor Supported:
Students enrolled on our Tutor Supported package are assigned with
a dedicated personal tutor. Your personal tutor is there to help, guide
and coach you during your course, and… you can contact them as many
times as you like. Your personal tutor will also contact you on a regular
basis to help ensure you keep on track (and nag you if necessary!)
Your personal tutor will also mark and provide feedback on all the Progress Tests and
Practice Assessments you submit to them – this is a vital aspect of the course as it will
help both you and us determine when you are ready to start sitting your exams.

Tutor Supported PLUS:

Tutor Supported PLUS is an ‘all inclusive’ package. So, in addition to the
course materials and unlimited tutor support, this package includes
all the extra costs, such as AAT admission fees, exam fees and exam
invigilation (administration) fees.
On top of that, we have a PASS PLUS GUARANTEE for all our StandardPLUS students
– with our exceptionally high pass rates, it is highly unlikely that you would need to
re-sit an exam, but just in case you don’t pass first time, we’ll cover all the costs for you!
(Terms and conditions apply.)

For a full breakdown of costs please see our price list (included in our email to
you).
Tutor Supported packages: you can generally phone and email your tutor Monday to
Thursdays from 9.00am until 8.00pm and until 5.00pm on Fridays. Tutor support during
weekends is available by arrangement.

Brilliant place to study

AAT qualifications
Everyone was brilliant with quick reply times and
answering any queries I had. Also messaging me to
see how I was getting on with my studies helped to
keep me motivated (as well as receiving student of
the month!)

Accountancy Learning is a brilliant place to study AAT

qualifications, the staff are so friendly and want you to
achieve the best possible. It is nice that you can book
an exam when you feel ready and confident enough!
Thanks to Accountancy Learning, I have managed
to start a career in accounting with no previous
knowledge before starting my Level 2.

Tasha has just completed her all AAT levels and is now

When can I get started

and how long will my
course take?
Enrolment is on a “roll on roll off” basis,
meaning that you can start at any time
of the year. Enrolment is quick and easy,
so you can be up and running with your
course within 1-2 hours!*
The ‘Guided Learning Hours’ set by the AAT for the AAT Level 3 Diploma in
Accounting is 400 hours. The total duration of the course is 15 months. In
the table below, we have calculated how long your course is likely to take
based on the number of hours (on average), that you can devote to your
studies each week:

6 hours per week 16 months

8 hours per week 12 months

15 hours per week 6 months

It is important to note that this is a ‘guide only’ – some students will be
able to complete the course quicker than this whereas others may take
a little longer – it very much depends on your background and prior
experience.

We recommend that you allocate a minimum of 6-8 hours to your studies

each week – the more hours you put in, the faster you will achieve your
AAT qualification!
* During normal working hours.

manager of the credit control
department!
I studied for my AAT level 2 & 3 and sat all my exams within 2 months, level 3 all

Well, I thought I’d share some news with you as I’m so pleased to have studied with

After completing my studies with you and gaining my AAT level 2 & 3 qualifications I
managed to land myself a nice job as a credit controller for New Directions in Cardiff.
After a short time, I was promoted to manager of the credit control department.

Today I’ve heard the news that I’ve been shortlisted for the Finance Wales Awards
2022 in the Rising Star category.

It just goes to show that anything is possible and completing my AAT was my first
step toward my new career.

I wanted to let you all know as I really enjoyed my time studying with you and I’ve
recommended your courses to several friends, one of whom has signed up and has
completed her level 2 already with you!

They are so patient and

helpful
The office is great. Signing up is really easy and you know that
you are signing up for the right course for you! I really like
the on-line presentations. They explain things in a different
way to the material in the books. This show and tell style of
learning suits me and I like to take notes as I go along. Doing
the exercises and marking your own work gives me confidence
that I have the knowledge for the exams. If you get something
wrong you can always go back over the presentations again to
understand why. If there are occasions when you just don’t
get it – you can talk this over the phone with one of the tutors.
They are so patient and helpful in tying everything together.
I have found Simon and Prue to be very helpful. It is a great
feeling when it suddenly clicks!
I really feel this is a start of a new career for me and can’t thank
Accountancy Learning enough for all of their help so far.
Accountancy Learning is a great way to start. You can start small
based on your current skills, time and budget and work your way
up at a pace that suits your own skills and abilities.

I started the AAT studies

with no prior accounting
experience...
I started the AAT studies with no prior accounting experience except
for two weeks of work experience. I began my Apprenticeships
straight from completing my A Levels and haven’t really looked back
since!
By doing my AAT studies alongside my role at work, I am learning
key concepts from a study perspective and in a real-world context.
I have been attending the ‘drop in’ sessions run by Accountancy
Learning for just over 18 months and, in that time, I haven’t had a
single complaint. I have always felt welcomed by all members of
staff. By attending the drop-in sessions, I am able to see my tutor
every week to discuss my progress and to hand in work to be marked,
which is always returned really quickly.
If ever I have needed their help, I know that Accountancy Learning
will be there and on hand to deal with any queries on my whole
course.
