I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of how Anglo-American literature and other text
ty]pes serve as means of preserving unchanging values in a changing world; also how to use
the features of a full-length play, tense consistency, modals, active and passive constructions
plus direct and indirect speech to enable him/her competently performs in a full-length play.
B. Performance Standard The learner competently performs in a full- length play through applying effective verbal and
non-verbal strategies and ICT resources based on the following criteria: Focus, Voice,
Delivery and Dramatic Conventions.
C. Learning Competencies MELC 10: React to lay value judgment on critical issues that demand sound analysis and call
for prompt actions

Fact or Opinion

• Teacher shall group the students into two


groups; the students shall read, analyze and identify if
the statements presented are fact or opinion.

2. Analysis • As the learners familiarize themselves in analyzing information through the short
introduction activity, the teacher will ask the following questions:

1. How were you able to tell whether the statement was a fact or a opinion?
2. Why is it important to determine if an information is a fact or opinion?
ANALYZE IT!

• The teacher will present and analyze the statements from the ‘Fact or Opinion’
activity.

• The learners will now be formally introduced to reacting to lay value judgment on
critical issues that demand sound analysis and call for prompt actions by distinguishing
factual judgement and value judgement.
3. Abstraction • To assess the students’ mastery of the topic, the teacher shall ask the following
questions:

1. What is factual judgement? Cite an example.


2. What is value judgement? Cite an example.
3. How can we use our knowledge in giving critical judgements in
everyday life?
4. Application Case Files
• The teacher shall group the students into three groups. Each group will be given a
case file or a folder containing a scenario where in they need to give their critical judgements
to help solve the situation.
 The students shall then report their findings using the graphic organizer provided.

5. Assessment  The outputs of each group will be assessed according to the following criteria:
- 20 points – Content (Critical judgements are evident)
- 10 points – Grammar and Mechanics
30 points – TOTAL
