• A tool for quick estimation of

only for diabetic diets, but for normal and
therapeutic diets as well.
• A grouping of common foods that have
practically the same amount of protein,
carbohydrate and fat
• Within a group, one food item can be
exchanged with another provided the
specified serving portion is followed

• Widely used in variety of
