1. Overview
<Öra> Coffee would be focusing on bringing roasted coffee beans from Southern India to the
consumers of the world who enjoy grinding their beans and brewing a hot cup of coffee. India is
the 8th largest producer of coffee in the world. We would target South Indian coffee sourced from
the best coffee planter and roasters from Coorg, Chikkamagaluru and Malabar (CCM). The purpose
of this project is to evaluate, select and deploy the highest profile coffee to the customers of Öra
coffee.
2. Success Criteria
The project will be considered a success if the following items are met/achieved
2.1. The first batch shall be rolled out by February 1st week 2023, to be shipped.
2.2. Coffee beans will be readily available, roasted and packed for the customer.
2.3. Öra Coffee shall capture all the online and retail marketplaces with growth potential.
2.4. Set up an automated workflow to minimize human effort from production to supply.
2.5. Incorporate an in-house roasting and packaging facility.
3. Objectives
3.1. Work with intra-state Coffee estates, Coffee roasters and SMEs to identify the best blend.
3.2. Create a brand logo and package labeling that speaks for itself.
3.3. Select the Coffee Beans and the Roasters from CCM by acceptance testing criteria.
3.4. Conduct market analysis to determine the best packaging for freshness and longevity.
3.5. Determine a shipping method and shipping service to suit our needs.
3.6. Market the product after it is ready to shelf/fulfill.
4. In Scope/Out of Scope
The project will consist of the activities described below. Activities not listed are considered out
of scope.
4.1. In Scope:
• Obtain samples from the vendors who will fulfill the order.
• Review, Compare and Select the Most Viable Product (MVP).
• Design and development of the website and branding.
• Create content (pictures, videos, context and stories) for the brand.
• Package the product in a Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) environment.
• Acceptance on Amazon marketplace and other distributors.
• Conduct crowdfunding campaigns.
• Ship products internationally with appropriate licensing and compliance.
• Elicit distributors and marketers who can promote the brand.
4.2. Out of Scope:
• Create- ‘a cause’, ‘standing for something’, ‘organic and single source’ type notions.
• Establishing a relationship with the “coffee community” from various cities.
7. Communication Plan
Team members shall communicate on a ad-hoc basis and at a monthly meeting. These calls and
meetings will be a window where tasks, milestones, brainstorms and deadlocks are discussed.
WhatsApp and Zoom shall be used as a primary medium of communication.
