    Conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye, is spreading in the community and can be caused by allergies or infections. Pink eye is highly contagious when caused by an infection and spreads through contact with infected eye secretions or contaminated surfaces. Symptoms include red or pink eyes, burning, itching, watery eyes and production of pus. Prevention tips include regularly washing hands and avoiding touching the eyes with unwashed hands.

    Pink Eye Alert!

    Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is currently spreading in our community. It can be caused by


    allergies or an infection and is highly contagious if caused by an infection. Pink eye
    spreads through contact with infected eye secretions.

    Symptoms include: How it spreads:

    • Burning, itching, or gritty sensation • Skin-to-skin contact (such as

    Prevention tips:
    • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water
    • Avoid touching your eyes with unwashed hands

    Where to seek treatment: If you develop pink eye, seek treatment from your
    regular healthcare provider or visit the DUT Clinics. Early intervention can help
    prevent further spread.
